Love Is in the Air 2023

In the picturesque Queensland wilderness, pilot Dana Randall (Delta Goodrem) is the driving force behind Fullerton Airways, a small seaplane company that provides essential air support services to both locals and tourists in this remote region. Her father Jeff (Roy Billing), ever the pragmatist, cautions her against devoting too much time to transporting a resident’s ailing dog to the veterinarian, as the mounting bills are taking a toll on their operations. Meanwhile, William Mitchell (Joshua Sasse), a high-powered representative from ITCM Financial, arrives in Australia with a mission to liquidate Fullerton Airways and shut down its struggling operations.

As part of his assignment, William is tasked with conducting an on-site inspection of the company’s financials and proving to his father Duncan (Hugh Parker) that he has what it takes to move up the corporate ladder. If successful, William will be promoted to Junior Director at ITCM Financial. Nikki (Steph Tisdell), Fullerton Airways’ skilled mechanic, tries to nudge Dana into taking some time for herself, but Dana is too deeply committed to her mother’s vision of keeping the airways afloat.

The day before the expected arrival of William and his inspection team, Jeff warns the staff about the impending visit. When William arrives, he’s initially met with a less-than-warm reception from Dana, who is understandably skeptical of his intentions. However, as they get to know each other, Jeff makes a concerted effort to impress William with Fullerton Airways’ remote air support services, which are heavily subsidized by government fuel costs.

As the evening wears on in Fullerton, the atmosphere is alive with possibility as Dana’s ex, Heath (Simon Brook McLachlan), observes her undeniable chemistry with Will. Emboldened by his own intuition, Nikki and Heath collectively urge Dana to seize this newfound connection, nudging her towards a path that will forever alter the trajectory of her life. Meanwhile, confirmation of an impending cyclone sends Dana into a flurry of activity as she frantically prepares for the storm’s arrival. As the three-person staff of Fullerton Airways huddles together in the hangar’s storage room to weather the tempest, Will vows to fight tooth and nail on their behalf at his headquarters, driven by a deep affection for Dana.

However, just as they are closing up shop for the evening, Jeff delivers devastating news: ITCM Financial has shut down Fullerton Airways with immediate effect.

William, now back in London, has failed to sway the board, leaving Dana to face an uncertain future. But undeterred, she arrives unannounced at Will’s doorstep, armed with a plan to revitalize and expand their beloved airways. Duncan’s skepticism only serves to galvanize her determination, prompting Will to tender his resignation and offer himself as a key ally in her quest.
