Ghasem, alongside his wife Narges, his mother, and other family members, boards a flight to Bandar Abbas, Iran. His goal is to secure a position with an industrial company, and despite the challenging working and living conditions, the entire family is hopeful about the future following this promising invitation. However, unbeknownst to everyone, Narges is the only one aware of her husband’s true intentions.

Once the aircraft reaches its cruising altitude, Ghasem pulls out a gun, swiftly disarming the sole flight marshal and threatening the pilot to divert the flight to Dubai. Amidst the chaos, while Ghasem is preoccupied with the escalating internal conflict, a second security guard, previously mistaken for a passenger, makes a daring move and wrests the weapon from the hijacker’s grip. Just when it seems the situation might stabilize, Narges cleverly orchestrates a plan to seize the gun, momentarily regaining control for the hijackers, who once again steer the plane toward Dubai.

As the flight struggles with dwindling fuel reserves, it ultimately crashes into the sea, leaving the fate of those on board uncertain. This poignant tale is inspired by a true incident that unfolded on December 13, 2000, when three members of a 23-person extended family attempted to hijack an Iranian domestic flight. In stark contrast to the hijackers’ intentions, that particular flight managed to land safely, thanks to the prompt actions of the flight crew. Consequently, the initial harsh sentences, including the death penalty and life imprisonment for the main offenders, were later reduced to extended prison terms, reflecting the legal system’s complexities in dealing with such turbulent events.
