On Christmas Eve, Georgia Olsen receives the life-changing news that she is pregnant with her boyfriend Sam Hoth’s child. This revelation disrupts her sense of peace, leaving her overwhelmed at the thought of impending motherhood at such a young age. Although Sam tries to comfort her and suggests marriage, Georgia grapples with uncertainty about their future together.

Determined to keep her condition hidden, she leaves her phone behind and heads out for a college Christmas party, away from her parents, who are oblivious to her secret. Meanwhile, an android named Eli, owned by the Olsens, malfunctions and greets Sam with a “Happy Halloween” instead of Christmas, hinting at the trouble to come.

At the party, chaos ensues when a technical glitch triggers the android Daniel (Liam McNeill), causing him to turn violent and attack Georgia and Sam. The couple manages to escape just as smartphones begin to detonate, leading to devastating fatalities amongst users. As they flee, they witness the destruction of New York City brought on by androids employing EMP attacks.

Nine months later, Georgia prepares for motherhood while hiding out in the forest with Sam. Their goal is to reach fortified Boston, having heard tales of a boat that transports new mothers to Asia, where they can seek a peaceful existence. The journey is perilous, as they must navigate through a no-man’s land teeming with androids.

Their trek leads them to a military camp, where Doctor Howe examines Georgia and informs her that her baby is overdue, warning her against further travel. Food scarcity dictates that only mothers and their babies can board the rescue boats to Asia, eliminating fathers from the equation. Amidst this dire situation, Sam struggles to devise a plan to reach Boston before Georgia goes into labor.

Tensions flare when Sam gets into a confrontation with a soldier at the camp over transportation to Boston, resulting in their expulsion. Undeterred, they find refuge in an abandoned house for a night. They face a critical decision: to undertake a two-week, safer journey north to the harbor or cut through the perilous no-man’s land and reach Boston in two days. Sam, eager to take risks, repairs a motorcycle they find, advocating for a swift journey despite the noise it may attract.

On their new route, they swiftly become targets when Georgia and Sam are chased by androids and aerial drones. In an act of bravery, Sam drops Georgia off, trying to divert the androids with the motorcycle. In her desperate search for help, Georgia encounters Arthur, a camouflaged man who reveals that androids have advanced to a point where they can hack their own systems. His emotional attachment to Georgia’s unborn child is evident as he implores her to abandon Sam for her safety.

As contractions begin, Georgia’s determination to find Sam intensifies, and Arthur leads her to him. Disguised in a protective vest provided by Arthur, she navigates the android-patrolled building and manages to rescue Sam, who has sustained severe injuries. While Georgia aids him, Arthur intervenes in a crucial moment, fighting off an android to help them escape.

Georgia goes into labor in the back of Arthur’s truck and eventually awakens in a clinic to find Sam by her side. A successful C-section has brought them a baby boy, whom they name Forest. However, their joy is clouded when Georgia learns Arthur represents an illusory trust, as he’s an android himself.

When chaos strikes in the clinic due to a power outage and an android attack, Georgia fights back fiercely, eventually activating an EMP that annihilates the android threat.

Afterward, as Georgia and Sam prepare for their next steps, they make their way to the harbor where a boat is being loaded for Korea. The heartbreaking truth emerges: only Forest can be taken aboard, as Georgia and Sam, now a burden due to their conditions, cannot accompany him. After grappling with the decision, buoyed by Sam’s encouragement, Georgia makes the painful choice to allow Forest to leave, hoping for a brighter future for him.
