In the charming town of Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania, 17-year-old Dylan (a bright student facing the reality of an inoperable brain tumor) resides with his devoted mother, Carol. She has tirelessly taken on the challenge of raising him alone following the tragic loss of his father. Suddenly, Dylan’s life undergoes a remarkable transformation when a wish-granting organization features him on television, where he makes a bold request that reverberates across the nation: he yearns for a weekend spent in the company of the dazzling supermodel, Nikki Sinclaire.

As luck would have it, Nikki, a successful model residing in New York City, comes across Dylan’s televised wish. Encouraged by her astute agent to visit him, she recognizes a chance to rejuvenate her public persona and agrees to meet the young man who has won the hearts of many. However, their first encounter turns out to be fleeting and somewhat disappointing, leaving Dylan feeling disillusioned.

Undaunted by this setback, Dylan embarks on a mission to gather funds and trip to New York City, joined by two loyal friends, all in hopes of rekindling the brief magic he felt with Nikki. Meanwhile, Carol, ever the protective mother, grapples with the challenge of letting her gravely ill son navigate an unfamiliar, bustling city without proper guidance.

As Dylan’s health starts to decline, he faces yet another obstacle when Nikki’s own struggles hold her back from connecting with him. Refusing to lose hope, Dylan and his friends decide to return home to Pennsylvania, ultimately arriving at the hospital where Dylan’s condition worsens.

In an unexpected twist of fate, Nikki arrives at the hospital and, at Dylan’s urging, takes him on a spontaneous trip to the beach. There, they connect on a deeper level, exchanging stories, fishing, and sharing affection against the backdrop of a radiant sky. Unfortunately, this cherished experience is cut short as Nikki learns of Dylan’s passing.

At Dylan’s funeral, a grief-stricken Nikki stands alongside his family, only to be met with a shocking revelation: in the afterlife, Dylan finds himself back at the beach, this time with his father by his side. They share a poignant conversation where his father imparts wisdom, reminding him that > “you don’t know and you never will” as he differentiates between reality and fantasy.
