As the sun-drenched dunes of the desert landscape gave way to the bustling streets of Baghdad, David (Willie Aames) and Sarah (Phoebe Cates), two innocent teenagers, embarked on a perilous journey with their caravan, bound for the ancient city of Damascus. The Victorian era's rigid social norms seemed a distant memory as they traversed the unforgiving expanse, their youthful enthusiasm and sense of adventure driving them forward.

However, fate had other plans. At an oasis, the notorious slave agent, known only as the 'Jackal', descended upon their caravan like a vulture, seeking to add Sarah's ravishing beauty to his harem of mistresses. David and Sarah, along with her loyal manservant, Geoffrey, narrowly escaped the carnage, but the cost was steep: David's American missionary parents fell victim to the Jackal's brutal slaughter.

As they fled into the unforgiving desert landscape, Geoffrey proved a fatal attraction for the merciless assassin, his untimely demise serving as a stark reminder of the dangers that lurked in every shadow. Sarah and David's desperate bid for survival led them to a serene oasis, nestled like an emerald jewel in the arid expanse. Here, they discovered a haven from the turmoil, where their blossoming love and sexuality could flourish.

Yet, the Jackal's relentless pursuit would not be sated until Sarah was in his grasp once more. David knew that he must lure his tormentor to his demise or face a similar fate at his hands. The stage was set for a heart-stopping confrontation as David prepared to face his nemesis and ensure their freedom.

In the end, it was David who emerged victorious, claiming the Jackal's life in a final, brutal battle. As they finally reached the safety of Damascus' city walls, Sarah revealed to David that she was with child, their love now tempered by the challenges they had overcome. Together, they stood at the threshold of a new era, one marked by hope, promise, and a future forged in the crucible of their unwavering devotion.
