Who is the main antagonist trying to undermine Commandant Lassard?

Plot Summary

As the clock strikes the anniversary of his inevitable departure from the Police Academy, Captain Harris (character A) - accompanied by his trusty sidekick Lt. Proctor - sets out to undermine Commandant Eric Lassard’s (character B) authority once more. This time, Harris’ plan hinges on discrediting Lassard during a celebratory trip to Miami Beach, where the venerable leader will be feted as “Police Officer of the Decade”. With his favorite protégés in tow - Sgts. Hightower, Jones, Tackleberry, and Hooks, Lt. Callahan, and newcomer Officer Thomas “House” Conklin (character C) - Lassard’s entourage will be joined by Sgt. Nick Lassard (character D), his nephew from the Miami Police Department.

However, Harris’ scheme takes an unexpected turn when he and Proctor are duped into chartering a rickety cargo plane to Florida, while the Police Academy group enjoys first-class travel on a 747. Upon arrival in Miami Beach, the motley crew of misfit police officers becomes entangled in a series of chaotic events sparked by Lassard’s unwitting acquisition of a stolen bag belonging to jewel thieves.

As the jewel thieves attempt to reclaim their ill-gotten gains and Harris vies for Commissioner Hurst’s approval as the ideal replacement for Commandant Lassard, the stage is set for the usual brand of zany antics. The plot thickens when Lassard, under the mistaken impression that he’s participating in an annual procedural demonstration, willingly allows himself to be kidnapped by the jewel thieves. This development leads to a botched negotiation, resulting in Captain Harris’ capture as well.

A high-stakes chase through the Everglades ensues, with Harris narrowly avoiding becoming alligator bait before being rescued by Hightower. The pursuit culminates in Lassard’s daring solo takedown of the jewel thief leader and his subsequent realization that mandatory retirement is, in fact, optional. With this newfound knowledge, Lassard reverses his decision to step down from the force, prompting a rousing celebration among his colleagues and underlings.
