Romeo is a young man who once enjoyed a life of luxury, but everything changes when his owners decide to cast him out, leaving him in the hands of the housekeeper, who unceremoniously dumps him onto the bustling streets of Mumbai. Now alone and vulnerable, he soon encounters a local gang that goes by cryptic names – Guru, Interval, Hero English, and the aspiring member Mini, who assert their dominance over the area. Initially lost in their street lingo, Romeo’s talent for hairstyling becomes his saving grace as he impresses the gang with stylish haircuts. They quickly accept him, and together they establish a thriving salon business.
Troubles arise when Chhainu, the henchman of the ruthless gangster Charlie Anna, arrives to collect his weekly protection fees, demanding packs of cigars. In a daring move, Romeo stands up to Chhainu, leading the gang to seek refuge from Charlie, who threatens them with his trio of female accomplices, whom he refers to as his Angels. Using cunning, Romeo manages to outsmart Charlie and secures their release.
Amid the chaos, Romeo encounters Laila, a captivating singer performing from a rooftop. They share a dance, and he falls for her instantly. When Laila insists that Romeo join her in a performance at the “Moonlight Club,” he agrees, blissfully unaware of Charlie’s long-standing obsession with her. Defying the gangster, Romeo dances with Laila, solidifying their bond. However, Charlie’s jealousy soon spirals out of control, leading him to capture and intimidate Romeo. In an attempt to appease Charlie and save himself, Romeo promises to make Laila fall for him, all while plotting to sabotage Charlie’s plans.
As tensions rise, Romeo orchestrates a scheme where Mini disguises herself as Laila to reject Charlie. This only serves to fuel Charlie’s rage, and Romeo promises him a second encounter with her. On the fateful night of their meeting, however, things take a turn for the worse. Chhainu spots Romeo kissing Laila, leading to a violent confrontation where Laila harshly confronts Romeo, declaring she never wants to see him again. Despite Romeo’s desperate pleas for redemption, he finds himself on the run from Charlie’s gang during a chaotic chase involving the police.
In a series of comedic mishaps, Charlie is ultimately cornered by the authorities. However, in a surprising twist of fate, Romeo helps Charlie evade capture, leading to a moment of unexpected camaraderie. Despite their escapades, Romeo is disheartened by Laila’s rejection and decides to leave for London, believing his chance with her is lost. Yet on the morning of his departure, Charlie confronts him, revealing that he has assured Laila of her love for Romeo.
Just as the train to London departs, Laila, faced with her feelings, races toward it. In a dramatic and heartwarming moment reminiscent of classic romance, she extends her hand to Romeo. With a nod to the iconic scene from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Charlie humorously reflects, “Where have I seen this before?” As Laila reaches the train, Romeo pulls her aboard, and they share a tender kiss while the train journeys into the sunset, a poignant end to their tumultuous story.
