Check out what happened in Sheena: Queen of the Jungle!

As American missionary doctors Phillip (Michael Shannon) and Betsy Ames (Betsey Paul) venture into the heart of Tigora, accompanied by their young daughter Janet (Kirsty Lindsey), they are met with a sense of wonder and awe at the vast expanse of the African kingdom. Their curiosity is piqued as they delve into the mystical properties of the Zambouli region's soil, but fate has other plans in store for them. A cave collapse on Gudjara Mountain claims their lives, leaving behind the orphaned Janet, who will soon be transformed into a symbol of hope and protection for the tribe.

The enigmatic Shaman (Elizabeth of Toro) of the Zamboulis takes pity on the young girl and ushers her into a world of wonder, imbuing her with the power to communicate telepathically with the region's majestic creatures. As the years unfold, Janet blossoms into a radiant woman, now played by Tanya Roberts, who learns the art of archery, a revered tradition among the Zamboulis. Her bond with Marika, a noble zebra, deepens, and she becomes an embodiment of harmony with nature.

Meanwhile, Prince Otwani (Trevor Thomas) returns to Tigora after a stint in the U.S.A., his eyes set on exploiting the titanium-rich Gudjara Mountain for personal gain. His Machiavellian plans include orchestrating the assassination of his brother, King Jabalani (Clifton Jones), who has always safeguarded the Zambouli territory from the ravages of mining. Shaman's intuition warns her of impending danger and she hastens to alert the king.

At the royal residence, Countess Zanda (France Zobda), the deceitful fiancée of King Jabalani, conspires with Prince Otwani, her illicit lover. Upon learning that the Zambouli Shaman has been in town, Zanda seizes the opportunity to frame her for the king's murder. From her cell, Shaman reaches out telepathically to summon Sheena (Tanya Roberts).

As American television sports reporter Vic Casey (Ted Wass) and his cameraman Fletcher (Donovan Scott) arrive on the scene, they are tasked with capturing a story about Prince Otwani. The stage is set for a dramatic evening at the royal palace, where King Jabalani will meet his untimely demise. Amidst the chaos that ensues, Fletcher's camera captures the unfolding tragedy as Prince Otwani feigns grief over his brother's lifeless body.

Here is the rewritten text:

As Vic and Fletcher meticulously review their footage, they uncover a shocking revelation: King Jabalani's untimely demise was not perpetrated with a Zambouli bow as Countess Zanda had claimed, but rather with a steel crossbow concealed in a tree. The two intrepid reporters become increasingly obsessed with unraveling the conspiracy surrounding the king's assassination and decide to pay a visit to Shaman, imprisoned in Azan. Upon arriving at the prison, they bear witness to Sheena's daring rescue of the Zambouli woman, accompanied by her menagerie of animals - zebras, elephants, and chimpanzees. Vic and Fletcher are left awestruck as they follow Sheena and Shaman into the heart of the jungle.

The next day, Otwani orders his henchman, Colonel Jorgenson, to eliminate both the escaped prisoner and the two meddling reporters, but with one caveat: Sheena is to be captured alive. Meanwhile, Vic and Fletcher find themselves surrounded by a pride of lions as they venture deeper into the jungle, only to have their path blocked by Sheena's authoritative demands for them to turn back. However, as she and Vic lock eyes, her expression softens, and she creates a sanctuary for the reporters to wait.

As Sheena departs to tend to Shaman's mortal wounds, Colonel Jorgenson and his mercenary forces arrive on the scene, seeking to eliminate the trio. Fletcher manages to escape and makes his way back to Azan, determined to share their groundbreaking footage with the world. Vic, however, finds himself hiding in the treetops alongside Sheena, their lives now inextricably linked.

The following day, Sheena and Vic embark on a perilous journey towards Zambouli territory, accompanied by Marika, her trusty zebra. As they navigate treacherous terrain, evading their pursuers at every turn, the two find themselves falling deeply in love. Meanwhile, Fletcher finds himself stuck in Azan, unable to ship their film or leave the country as Otwani has shut down all communication and air travel.

Upon reaching Z'kuru, the first Zambouli village, they are met with a gruesome sight: Jorgenson's soldiers are wreaking havoc on the land. Undeterred, Sheena and Vic concoct a plan to ignite the convoy's gasoline tanks using a flaming arrow. However, just as their scheme is about to come to fruition, a fighter helicopter appears on the scene, fanning out the flames. Otwani orders the pilot to take aim at Sheena and Vic as they flee for cover.

As the helicopter begins targeting a herd of gazelle, threatening to slaughter Sheena's beloved zebra, Marika, she and Vic emerge from their hiding spot and surrender to their captors.

As Countess Zanda's plans unfold, a dramatic reversal of fortune is set in motion. Despite Otwani's fervent objections, Zanda prepares to unleash her wrath upon Sheena, orchestrating a helicopter stunt that will culminate in the latter's supposed demise. First, she orders the pilot to make a detour over the nearby village, allowing the Zamboulis to bear witness to their protector's seemingly inevitable doom. However, Sheena's telepathic prowess proves too great, as she summons a flock of flamingos that encircle the helicopter and assail the pilot, ultimately leading to Zanda's downfall. As the chopper hurtles towards its demise, Sheena seizes the opportunity to leap into the treetops, narrowly avoiding the impending catastrophe.

Meanwhile, Vic has managed to evade his captors and makes a daring return to join forces with Sheena. Collaborating with Chief Haromba, they devise a strategy that will unleash the full fury of Sheena's wild animals upon their foes. Unbeknownst to Otwani, who has ordered Jorgenson and his soldiers to secure Gudjara Mountain in preparation for mining its rich titanium reserves, the Zamboulis have been laying in wait. As the convoy becomes stuck along a dense forest road, Sheena and her allies launch a surprise attack, unleashing a hail of arrows, spears, and boulders upon their enemies. The soldiers retaliate with automatic rifle fire, but it soon becomes apparent that they are cornered. Jorgenson orders his men to retreat in the face of an onslaught from elephants, chimpanzees, lions, and even a rhinoceros.

As chaos erupts, Sheena jumps onto her zebra, hotly pursuing Otwani, who has managed to escape in a Jeep. Chief Haromba, meanwhile, exacts revenge for the deaths of the Z'kuru villagers by spearing Colonel Jorgenson. Though thrown from her zebra during a high-speed chase, Sheena remains steadfast and ultimately delivers the fatal blow to Otwani with her bow and arrow.

In a parallel development, Vic is racing across the desert in an attempt to intercept Otwani and put a stop to his nefarious plans. However, his Jeep crashes, leaving him badly burned but still alive. After being healed by Sheena and the Zamboulis through the therapeutic properties of the soil, Vic initially entertains the notion of returning to New York City with Sheena, only to reconsider once he realizes the exploitation she would suffer at their hands. Before parting ways, the two declare their love for one another, with Vic vowing to return and rejoin her in the future.
