As the morning sun fails to illuminate their home in 1995, four-year-old Kevin suffers an unfortunate incident that his six-year-old sister Kaylee attributes to sleepwalking. The siblings are whisked away to the hospital, only to be returned to their bewildering reality. As night falls, they awaken to find themselves facing a peculiar predicament: their father has vanished into thin air, leaving behind a trail of disappearing objects, including windows, doors, and various household items. Kevin proposes that they sleep downstairs, where they can while away the hours watching cartoons on television.

As the darkness deepens, the children are startled by an unexplained thumping noise and discover a chair suspended upside-down from the ceiling. Kevin hypothesizes that their father “went with mom,” but Kaylee is reluctant to discuss her mother’s whereabouts. As they venture upstairs, they stumble upon a surreal sight: a toilet in the downstairs bathroom has disintegrated into thin air.

As they make their way to the upstairs bathroom, Kaylee encounters a doll perched precariously on the ceiling of one bedroom. Meanwhile, Kevin becomes too terrified to use the toilet and suggests placing two buckets in the downstairs bathroom as an alternative. Suddenly, a mysterious voice beckons Kaylee from the shadows, urging her to ascend to the second floor. There, she finds herself face-to-face with their father, who instructs her to lift the edge of the bed. Though she fails to uncover any secrets, her mother materializes, proclaiming her love for the children before vanishing into thin air.

As Kaylee regains her composure, she spots her open closet and hears her mother’s distant whispers, pleading with her to come closer. The closet seems to be harboring a dark secret: the sound of bones snapping and moans of pain echo through the darkness. Suddenly, a hand reaches out from around the corner, sending Kaylee into a panic-stricken frenzy.

As Kaylee ( actress name ) descends the stairs, Kevin helps her barricade the hallway with a couch, attempting to shield her from the unsettling voice that had been summoning her. When Kevin dozes off, the voice beckons Kaylee once more, and she vanishes into thin air, leaving behind a trail of suspended toys and objects stuck to the wall like macabre decorations. The voice then turns its attention to Kevin, coaxing him down into the basement where he’s met with an eerie sight: Kaylee, her eyes and mouth erased from existence.

The voice, now dripping with malevolent glee, invites Kevin to play, as various toys begin to disappear before his very eyes. In a bizarre twist, a kitchen drawer slides open, and Kevin is compelled by the voice’s command to insert a knife into one of his own eyes. Panic sets in as he calls 9-1-1, whispering to the operator that he’s been injured and feels ill. The operator assures him that help is on its way, but before Kevin can muster a coherent response, the phone drops from his hand, replaced by a Chatter Telephone toy.

As the voice revels in its newfound power, it reveals to Kevin that Kaylee had disobeyed its will, demanding to see her parents, which earned her the cruel punishment of having her mouth taken away. The voice then instructs Kevin to ascend to the upstairs level, where he finds himself standing on the ceiling, flashlight in hand. The room around him begins to dissolve, replaced by a seemingly endless hallway lined with toys and a dollhouse sitting atop a mountain of playthings.

A cryptic message appears on screen: “572 days.” As Kevin navigates this surreal landscape, a woman sits on the bed, her body slowly fading away until only her head remains. The photos scattered around her show faces that are either missing or distorted beyond recognition. Suddenly, blood splatters onto the floor, only to disappear and reappear in a macabre cycle.

In desperation, Kevin asks the voice if he can watch something happy, and an apparition of a door materializes before him. In the darkness, an unidentifiable face appears above him, bidding him goodnight as the room fades to black. Despite his pleas for the face’s name, it remains silent, leaving Kevin trapped in this waking nightmare with no escape.
