What is the main objective of the snowball fight in Snowtime?

Plot Summary

In the quaint winter wonderland of a small village, a group of children concocted a plan to stage an epic snowball fight, with the stakes set high: the team that controls the prized snow fort by the end of the break would emerge victorious. Among them was Luke, chosen to lead one faction, but his team struggled to decide on their opponents. In a bid to provoke two potential adversaries, Piers and Frankie, into joining forces against them, they resorted to pelting the pair with snowballs - only to inadvertently target Sophie, the new arrival in town who had caught Luke’s eye. Incensed by this turn of events, Sophie seized the opportunity to lead her own team and commissioned Frankie to construct an elaborate snow fort.

As the battle commenced on day one, Luke’s team was repelled with ease. Undeterred, they regrouped for a second assault, only to discover that their opponents had been secretly preparing an ambush. Chuck, a clever young strategist, had crafted snowballs coated in ice, but Luke’s team chose not to employ this potent weapon. Unbeknownst to them, Sophie’s younger sister Lucy stumbled upon the frozen projectiles and informed her sibling, prompting Sophie to devise a counterattack involving paint-filled snowballs. The ensuing skirmish saw Sophie’s team pilfer Luke’s treasured bugle, a poignant reminder of his father who had lost his life in combat.

Sophie’s absence on the third day allowed Luke’s team to launch a surprise attack and claim the fort, but she retaliated by infiltrating their stronghold under the cover of darkness, making off with their flag in the process. As tensions escalated, Nicky and his cousin Daniel feigned injuries to bring the warring factions together, prompting them to lay aside their differences. However, Sophie convinced Luke to agree to one final battle, citing her own absence from the previous skirmish as justification.

In a last-ditch effort to turn the tide, Luke’s team enlisted the aid of the village’s youngest residents and deployed Frankie’s pilfered plans to launch a barrage of giant ice blocks at the snow fort. The ensuing battle saw the fort crumble, crushing Piers’ beloved dog Cleo in the process. Grief-stricken by this loss, Piers blamed Luke for allowing the game to get out of hand. A remorseful Luke sounded a mournful bugle call as the children buried Cleo’s remains. As they came to terms with their actions, both teams realized that their competitive spirit had driven them apart and vowed to tear down the remnants of the snow fort together, marking a newfound era of harmony in their winter wonderland.
