Unbeknownst to Archibald, his father, Richard, had been monitoring the situation from afar, driven by a sense of paternal responsibility.

As Richard staged a daring rescue mission to free his son, he found himself pitted against government agents in an epic battle. After successfully extricating Archibald from custody, Richard chose not to reveal his true identity, opting instead to assume the alias "George." As they made their escape, however, Sivardiere was kidnapped by Richard, who had been planning a comeback.

It wasn't until he saw Richard reminiscing about his wife, twirling the pendant around her finger, that Archibald began to piece together the truth. As the dust settled, Jouard recovered the Big Mac, a device capable of disrupting power supplies. Recognizing Richard's need for redemption, Jouard brought him in for questioning regarding his involvement in the prior operation, Cup-and-Ball. With a wink and a promise to be there for his son, Richard triggered the Big Mac, plunging the building into darkness before making his escape.
