Check out what happened in The Monster Project!

In a bold move, Devon Adams (together with his friend Jamal) concocts a plan to fabricate a fake monster sighting, which they capture on film and share online as authentic. Seeking to maximize their viral impact, Devon proposes transforming their staged scenes into an actual show where they embark on a quest to uncover real-life creatures of the night. The duo dubs this endeavour "The Monster Project." In an effort to attract genuine participants, Devon posts a Craigslist ad inviting individuals who claim to possess supernatural abilities in Los Angeles to get in touch.

Meanwhile, Jamal's roommate Bryan Jay (a recovering addict) records a heartfelt video message for his parents, only to be interrupted by Murielle, with whom Bryan has romantic feelings. As the dynamics between these roommates unfold, Devon and Jamal travel to a Navajo reservation where they meet Steven, a law enforcement officer who claims to possess the mystical abilities of a Native American skinwalker. Unfortunately, their meeting is cut short due to technical issues; however, Steven agrees to participate in Devon's interview project.

Upon returning to Jamal's apartment, Devon encounters Bryan and has an awkward run-in with Murielle, whose past relationship with Devon ended tumultuously. The stage is set for further conflict when Shayla, a tattoo artist, reaches out to claim she is a vampire. In exchange for a vial of blood, she offers to participate in their interview project. Bryan is eventually convinced to donate his own blood, only to have the mysterious vial vanish inexplicably. His devoutly religious nature prompts Bryan to caution Devon about the dangers they may be courting.

That night, Jamal awakens to the sound of loud pounding on his door and finds a DVD left by an Asian woman named Shiori, who claims to be possessed by the demon Baphomet. This ominous development sets the tone for what is to come.

At Bryan's birthday celebration, Devon apologizes for previously referring to him as a recovering addict and extends an offer for Bryan to join "The Monster Project" as a production assistant. This gesture sparks a chain of events that culminates in Murielle having another confrontational exchange with Devon. Their disagreement concludes with Devon offering her a directing role on the show, aligning with her professional aspirations.

In the aftermath of the party, Bryan and Murielle share an intimate moment, only for Murielle to abruptly depart after a fleeting kiss. Frustrated by her rejection, Bryan lashes out in anger, sending a chair flying across the room. The next day, he attempts to discuss their kiss with Murielle, but she insists it was a mistake and does not wish to jeopardize their friendship.

As the group of intrepid investigators - Devon (character name), Jamal, Murielle, and Bryan (character name) - arrive at the foreboding old mansion on a night marked by an otherworldly lunar eclipse, they're greeted by the enigmatic property caretaker Richard. His ominous warning about the house's dark past as a site of satanic activity in the 1960s sets the tone for what's to come. The group's brief encounter with Richard's catatonic wife Martha, confined to a wheelchair, adds an air of unease to the already charged atmosphere.

As the night wears on, the crew begins to experience strange and seemingly supernatural occurrences that leave them increasingly uneasy. The arrival of Shiori, Shayla, and Steven (character names) only serves to heighten the sense of foreboding. Steven's revelation about the requirements for becoming a skinwalker - namely, making a pact with The Devil by killing a family member - casts a sinister glow over the proceedings.

Shayla's interview is marked by an unsettling insistence that Bryan (character name) ask her questions, during which she reveals having tasted oxycontin in his blood. The fallout from this bombshell leads to Bryan storming off the set, only to be confronted by Jamal about his deception regarding his sobriety. As tensions escalate, Bryan's pills are confiscated and he's ultimately kicked off the set.

Meanwhile, Shiori's interview takes a dark turn as she claims that "the bad man" has been with her since birth, promising to leave her if she agrees to participate in the documentary. Her gruesome wounds, which she attributes to the demon's malevolent influence, are accompanied by a video feed glitch. As Shiori begins to scream, the power in the house inexplicably goes out.

In the ensuing chaos, Steven transforms into the skinwalker and launches a ferocious attack. Shiori becomes possessed, joining forces with Steven as they terrorize Devon, Murielle, and Jamal. The group's attempts to fend off these supernatural threats are met with increasing desperation.

As the night descends further into madness, Bryan returns to the house, rejoining forces with Devon and Murielle. They're shocked to find Jamal badly injured. Shayla attacks in her vampire form, biting Murielle in the neck. Jamal's quick thinking allows him to rescue Bryan by staking Shayla, effectively destroying her.

Steven continues his rampage, forcing the group to seek refuge. As they discover Shiori hiding with them, they realize that all exits are sealed, trapping everyone within the house. Possessed once again, Shiori launches herself at Bryan, who's forced to confront a nightmarish vision in which he's haunted by the ghosts of his junkie friends, their deaths a direct result of his tainted drugs. The darkness closing in around them, the quintet must find a way to survive this descent into madness and escape the clutches of the malevolent forces that now surround them.

As Bryan returns to reality, he rushes to pray over Shiori, only to be interrupted by Murielle's descent into convulsive chaos as a dark force takes hold of her body. With the demon seemingly banished, Murielle regains composure, joining forces with Bryan and Devon to confront Jamal, who has undergone a terrifying transformation into a skinwalker. But their attempts at intervention are short-lived, as Steven suddenly turns on Jamal, sending the trio fleeing upstairs in search of safety.

However, Murielle's fate is already sealed. The vampire bite she suffered earlier begins to take its toll, and Devon reveals that she was always part of his sinister plan. As her condition worsens, Bryan is forced to make an impossible decision: ending Murielle's life when she transforms into a bloodthirsty creature.

As chaos ensues, Bryan finds himself face-to-face with a robed cultist adorned in an animal skull mask, who delivers an ominous warning: "He is coming." With no time to waste, Bryan must flee for his life, only to be knocked from a second-story window and resume the desperate chase. Eventually, he stumbles into a room where the gruesome reality of the night's events unfolds before him.

The air thickens with malevolent energy as Devon, now empowered by dark forces, explains that every life lost in the mansion was a deliberate sacrifice in an occult ritual. The caretaker, Richard, donning the animal skull mask, leads the procession, proclaiming "Anoint the head of your king" before revealing his true identity and placing the mask on Devon's head. In a twisted display of devotion, Richard invokes Satan, thanking his wife Martha for her role in the dark ritual.

As the satanic summoning gains momentum, Bryan finds himself at the mercy of his tormentors, forced to confront the horrifying truth that he is to be the next victim. With a cold and calculating precision, Richard slits Bryan's throat, and the world goes dark as the mansion begins to shake violently, the very foundations of reality torn asunder by the malevolent forces now unleashed.
