Check out what happened in The Perfection!

As the curtain lifted on Charlotte's (formerly) illustrious musical career, she found herself reacquainted with the world of cello virtuosity - albeit under less-than-ideal circumstances. Having sacrificed her own artistic pursuits to tend to her ailing mother, Charlotte's life had taken a dramatic turn upon her mother's passing. Seeking guidance and validation, she reached out to Anton (her erstwhile mentor), now helming the prestigious Bachoff music school in Boston, where she had once thrived under his tutelage.

Anton, accompanied by his cohorts Geoffrey and Theis, as well as his wife Paloma, was stationed in Shanghai, temporarily overseeing a series of auditions for talented young cellists vying for a spot at the revered institution. Charlotte's arrival at this juncture was met with warmth and enthusiasm by Anton and his team, who invited her to join them in assessing the aspiring musicians. Amidst this gathering of musical minds, Charlotte rekindled an old flame - Lizzie, whose star pupil status had catapulted her to international fame.

As the two women's paths converged once more, a deep-seated admiration for one another's artistic prowess blossomed into a passionate friendship, eventually giving way to romance. In the aftermath of the audition, with a few days' reprieve before departing China, Lizzie and Charlotte decided to embark on a leisurely bus journey together, celebrating their newfound connection in the process.

The next morning, however, dawned with a decidedly less jubilant tone as Lizzie woke up with a hangover of epic proportions. Charlotte's stash of ibuprofen proved the perfect remedy, allowing them to board the bus and continue their excursion. Alas, Lizzie's condition only worsened as the hours ticked by, culminating in an urgent need to disembark for a much-needed bathroom break.

The bus driver, understandably perturbed by the disruption to his schedule, reluctantly agreed to halt the vehicle, but not before Charlotte had to intervene once more to facilitate Lizzie's hasty departure. As they stood stranded in the middle of nowhere, Lizzie's hangover-induced nausea gave way to a far more distressing reality: her vomit, which had earlier splattered the bus window, now teemed with dozens of crawling insects.

The bus driver's reaction was one of utter pandemonium as he summarily ejected both women from the vehicle. Left to face the desolate landscape alone, Lizzie's panic reached new heights when she realized that the wriggling arthropods had infiltrated her own skin - specifically, under the surface of her right hand.

In a desperate bid to extricate herself from this biological nightmare, Lizzie seized a nearby chopper held by Charlotte and, with a frenzied intensity, hacked away at her own hand, severing it from her body in a gruesome act of self-liberation.

As the days unfold, Lizzie arrives at the Bachoff school, her hand noticeably absent from her body. A jarring flashback reveals that Charlotte's sinister machinations had been unfolding behind the scenes. Instead of soothing Lizzie's discomfort with ibuprofen, Charlotte had administered a powerful hallucinogenic drug, originally prescribed for her mother, and manipulated Lizzie into self-amputation. As Lizzie regains consciousness, she's met with a harsh reality: Charlotte's true intentions were far from altruistic. Fueled by jealousy and a deep-seated desire to spare Lizzie the same fate, Charlotte had orchestrated the entire ordeal. Crushed by her discovery, Lizzie implores Anton for forgiveness, pleading to be readmitted to the school. However, Anton, cold-hearted and unforgiving, rejects her pleas, deeming her useless without her cello-playing abilities.

Seething with rage, Lizzie sets out to confront Charlotte, tracking her down to her Minneapolis residence. With calculated precision, she incapacitates Charlotte with a taser, then binds her and stores her in the trunk of her car. Upon returning to the Bachoff school, Anton greets Charlotte's return with a mixture of relief and curiosity. As he interrogates Charlotte, a series of haunting flashbacks reveal the true extent of Charlotte's suffering at the hands of Anton, Geoffrey, Theis, and Paloma. A victim of systemic abuse, rape, and torture, Charlotte was forced to endure unimaginable psychological trauma as she struggled to achieve the unattainable standard of "musical perfection." Her descent into madness eventually led her to a mental institution before she found solace in caring for her dying mother.

Charlotte's sole motivation had been to spare Lizzie from suffering a similar fate, recognizing the tattoo of an eighth-note on Lizzie's back as a symbol shared by all girls indoctrinated into Anton's sex cult. As the truth begins to unravel, it becomes clear that Paloma was complicit in Charlotte's abuse and manipulation, further solidifying the depth of the Bachoff school's depravity.

As Anton's fury reaches a boiling point, he presents Charlotte with an ultimatum: to execute a complex musical piece flawlessly in front of his newest pupil from Shanghai, with the promise that her freedom will be hers if she succeeds. The stakes are high, and Charlotte's nerves are stretched taut as she takes her place at the instrument. Though she pours her heart and soul into the performance, a single misstep sends Anton into a rage. He dispatches his new pupil to bed and orders Lizzie, Geoffrey, and Theis to unleash their wrath upon Charlotte, warning them that they may take turns when she stops resisting.

Lizzie, however, has other plans in mind. Seizing the opportunity, she declares her intention to claim Charlotte as her own, exacting a brutal revenge for past transgressions. As Geoffrey and Theis wait eagerly to inflict their cruel punishment, Lizzie's sinister plot unfolds. Unbeknownst to them, they have been sipping poisoned drinks, courtesy of Lizzie's cunning manipulation. With her adversaries incapacitated, Charlotte seizes the moment to reveal her true intentions to Lizzie: to save her from Anton's tyranny.

Meanwhile, Anton is oblivious to the chaos brewing in his absence. A knock at the door interrupts his solitary reverie, and Paloma's labored breathing signals her arrival. As she collapses, Charlotte and Lizzie enter the scene, armed with kitchen knives. The atmosphere turns deadly as Anton struggles to defend himself, managing to wrestle free from Charlotte's grasp but ultimately succumbing to Lizzie's relentless assault.

The film concludes on a haunting note, as Charlotte and Lizzie take center stage for an impromptu cello concert. Lizzie's mangled left arm moves deftly across the strings, while Charlotte's right hand guides the bow with precision. Their sole audience member is Anton, whose limbs are amputated, his eyes and mouth stitched shut, and his ears attuned to the haunting melody.
