Plot Summary

As the 1974 sun dipped below the horizon, a lone Secret Service agent narrowly escaped with his life from an eerie English country estate, where unholy rituals were being conducted under the watchful eye of the enigmatic Chin Yang. In his final moments, he whispered to his superiors about a sinister cult comprising four prominent figures: a government minister, a peer, a general, and a renowned scientist. The agent’s camera captured their images, but an unexpected fifth photograph, seemingly depicting an empty doorway, raised suspicions about its authenticity. To mitigate any potential repercussions from the involved minister, Colonel Mathews, a seasoned Secret Service official, discreetly reached out to Scotland Yard’s Inspector Murray, tasking him with investigating the matter independently. Murray astutely recommended consulting Professor Lorrimer Van Helsing, a respected expert in the occult.

The cult’s dark forces soon kidnapped Jane, the Secret Service secretary, and before long, she found herself under the influence of Count Dracula’s curse. Murray, accompanied by Secret Service agent Torrence, and Jessica, Van Helsing’s granddaughter, converged on the country estate. As they entered the property, the trio split up to cover more ground: Murray and Torrence ventured inside to confront Chin Yang, while Jessica descended into the cellar in search of answers. It was there that she stumbled upon Jane, now a vampire, chained to a wall. The sudden commotion awakened other imprisoned female vampires, who sensed Jessica’s presence and set their sights on her. The agents rushed to her aid, managing to extricate themselves from the chaos.

Meanwhile, Murray dispatched Jane with a stake, ensuring his colleagues’ safety, before escaping the estate grounds alongside Torrence and Jessica. Unbeknownst to them, Van Helsing had paid a visit to his scientist friend, Julian Keeley, one of the four conspirators, at his laboratory. Keeley, troubled by his own mental instability, was secretly working on a bacteriological project designed to create a highly contagious strain of the bubonic plague. As Van Helsing arrived, he noticed Keeley among the suspects and engaged in conversation with him. However, their discussion was cut short when Keeley’s guard shot Van Helsing, leaving him unconscious. Upon regaining consciousness, Van Helsing found Keeley’s lifeless body hanging from the ceiling, and to his horror, the plague bacillus had vanished into thin air.

As the 23rd of the month looms on the horizon, a sense of foreboding settles over the protagonist, Keeley (played by), whose cryptic research notes lead the esteemed Professor Abraham Van Helsing (played by) to the enigmatic property developer D.D. Denham. The professor’s keen mind quickly unravels the threads of intrigue, revealing that Denham is none other than the reanimated Dracula himself. This diabolical revelation sends Van Helsing racing to Denham’s headquarters, built atop the sacred grounds where the Count met his demise in a previous chapter. There, he discovers Denham’s true nature and attempts to vanquish the vampire with a silver bullet, but is thwarted by Dracula’s cunning minions.

As the stakes grow higher, Jessica (played by), Murray (played by), Mathews (played by), and Torrence (played by) find themselves under siege while observing the ominous country house. The group suffers devastating losses as snipers take aim, claiming the lives of Torrence and Mathews. Murray and Jessica are captured, leaving them at the mercy of Chin Yang, a vampire with her own sinister agenda. In a daring escape, Murray manages to outwit his captors and makes his way to the cellar, where he confronts Yang and dispatches her with a well-placed mallet blow. The other female vampires meet their demise as Murray harnesses the power of clear running water from the fire sprinkler system.

Meanwhile, Dracula (played by) arrives at the country house, flanked by his loyal henchmen. With cold calculation, he announces his intention to make Jessica his consort, a pawn in his plan to unleash a devastating plague upon the world. As his minions begin to question their master’s motives, Dracula exercises his hypnotic control, silencing any dissent with an iron fist. The Count then commands John Porter (played by) to break the vial, releasing the deadly bacteria and infecting the unsuspecting minister. In a desperate bid for freedom, Murray overpowers a guard in the computer room, triggering an explosion that sparks a fire and unlocks the ritual chamber.

As chaos erupts, two uninfected conspirators make their escape, while Murray rescues Jessica and the infected minister meets his demise amidst the flames. Dracula launches a ferocious attack on Van Helsing, but the professor remains one step ahead, luring the vampire into a trap and impaling him through the heart with a fence post. As the Count disintegrates into ashes, Van Helsing retrieves the ring that once symbolized Dracula’s dark power, signaling the end of an era for the forces of evil.
