In the scorching Taiwanese summer, a peculiar phenomenon unfolds: a severe water shortage prevails, while an abundance of watermelons seems to mock the parched landscape. Television broadcasts, desperate for solutions, proffer innovative conservation techniques and suggest sipping on refreshing watermelon juice as an alternative to drinking water. Amidst this backdrop, Hsiao-kang (played by a pornographic actor), captures the essence of his profession by filming sultry scenes with watermelons and water. Shiang-chyi, a woman living in close proximity, navigates her daily routine.

One fateful day, while collecting discarded water bottles, Shiang-chyi stumbles upon a cache of watermelons floating in the river, which she plucks and takes home. As she passes by Hsiao-kang, who is slumbering on a park bench, she uses his water bottle to wash her newfound treasure. Seating herself across from him, she unwittingly rekindles their acquaintance, having previously crossed paths when he worked as a watch salesman. Unaware of his current occupation in the adult entertainment industry, Shiang-chyi forms a connection with Hsiao-kang, which blossoms into a romantic relationship marked by tender moments, shared meals, and intimate gestures. They stroll to a video store, where they indulge in passionate displays amidst the aisles dedicated to adult films.

Shiang-chyi’s life takes an unexpected turn when she stumbles upon an unconscious porn actress in a lift, and subsequently assists a crew member in transporting her to a filming location. Her heart sinks as she realizes Hsiao-kang is involved in the production, his true profession now starkly revealed. As the camera captures the gruesome scene of Hsiao-kang committing sexual violence against the comatose woman, Shiang-chyi watches in horror, frozen by the brutality unfolding before her. The moment Hsiao-kang reaches climax, he withdraws from the unconscious woman and forces his penis into Shiang-chyi’s mouth, shattering their relationship and leaving her reeling in disgust.
