As Eliza Thornberry (Eliza Thornberry) spends carefree days playing with a family of cheetahs in Kenya, she unwittingly becomes embroiled in a perilous adventure when poachers snatch one of the cubs, Tally. Determined to rescue the little ball of fur, Eliza finds herself whisked away to London's prestigious boarding school by her grandmother Cordelia (Cordelia). However, it's not long before Eliza discovers that her trusty sidekick, Darwin the chimpanzee (Darwin), has stowed away in her suitcase, causing chaos and trouble wherever they go.

Following a mystical dream in which Shaman Mnyambo implores her to save Tally, Eliza and Darwin embark on a daring journey back to Africa. As they travel by train from Nairobi, they stumble upon an injured male rhinoceros, its horn brutally shot away by the same ruthless poachers responsible for Tally's kidnapping. With the help of veterinarians Bree (Bree) and Sloan Blackburn (Sloan), Eliza and Darwin manage to save the majestic creature.

Meanwhile, back in the Thornberry family's RV, the Comvee, Eliza's older sister Debbie (Debbie) finds herself at a loss as she tends to their feral adoptive younger brother Donnie (Donnie) while their parents, Nigel (Nigel) and Marianne (Marianne), are away capturing footage of a solar eclipse in Tempo Valley. When Eliza returns to the Comvee for supplies, Debbie sets off in hot pursuit, determined to track down her adventurous sibling.

As Eliza's family begins to close in on her location, she crosses paths with an orphaned gorilla who whispers rumors of a sinister plot unfolding in Tempo Valley. Her suspicions confirmed when she reunites with the Blackburns, Eliza realizes that the poachers are targeting the elephant herd migrating through the valley. The stakes heighten as she stumbles upon Tally, now captive and exhausted, in the Blackburns' RV - exposing their true nature as the ruthless poachers.

As the Blackburns reveal their electrified fence, a desperate Debbie finds herself in the clutches of Sloan, who will stop at nothing to silence her. It's only when Eliza confesses that her extraordinary ability to communicate with animals allowed her to uncover their nefarious plan that Sloan unleashes his wrath. Just as all hope seems lost, a torrential storm sweeps in, siphoning away Eliza's powers just as the poachers flee in disarray.

As the Blackburns' helicopter descends upon Tempo Valley, Eliza (Eliza) finds herself face-to-face with a majestic elephant herd barreling towards the electric fence. Debbie's reassuring words bring her friend back from the brink of self-doubt, reminding her of the countless animals she's helped before ever discovering her extraordinary abilities. The Blackburns' sinister plan to scare the elephants into charging towards the fence is foiled when Eliza triggers its electricity prematurely, causing the herd to momentarily halt their charge. She then persuades the lead elephant to reverse course, prompting Sloan to lose his temper and toss Eliza into a nearby river. Enraged by her defiance, he attempts to shoot the elephants, only to have them retaliate by upending the Blackburns' helicopter, sending Sloan and Bree plummeting to the ground. As authorities arrive to apprehend the pair as the eclipse ends, Eliza narrowly escapes drowning thanks to the timely intervention of Shaman Mnyambo. He reveals that her selfless actions saved the elephants using her heart rather than her powers, restoring her abilities as a reward.

Upon reuniting with her family, they decide against sending her back to boarding school, while Boko returns to his village, keeping Debbie's watch as a treasured memento. The Thornberrys return to their Savannah home, where Eliza is reunited with Tally and his loving family. However, Debbie becomes incensed when Eliza confides that revealing her secret will transform her into a baboon, inadvertently startling a group of nearby primates being filmed by Nigel and Marianne. As the situation spirals out of control, one of the curious creatures accidentally activates a radio, filling the airwaves with infectious music that soon finds the Thornberrys and their new primate friends dancing together in perfect harmony.
