The film Tòkunbò follows the gripping journey of its protagonist, Tòkunbò, who finds himself entwined in a life of crime when he is tasked with delivering illegal cars to the notorious gangster known as Gaza. With the impending birth of his child weighing heavily on his mind, Tòkunbò becomes increasingly disillusioned by the violent lifestyle surrounding him. In a courageous attempt to protect his family, he ultimately decides to abandon this treacherous path and shift his focus toward his loving wife, Lisa, and their newborn son, Chris.

Fast forward eighteen months, and the challenges have only intensified. Now working as a desperate cab driver, Tòkunbò struggles daily to make ends meet, striving to ensure that his son receives the medical treatment necessary for a heart transplant. Despite his tireless efforts, his income proves inadequate, compelling him to sought assistance from Gaza once more. However, when Gaza coldly turns down his pleas, Tòkunbò is left with little choice but to return to his cab, where fate intervenes.

One fateful day, he discovers a forgotten cell phone belonging to a transporter responsible for smuggling illegal goods in exchange for significant financial rewards. Seizing this unexpected opportunity, Tòkunbò bravely takes on the identity of the transporter, embarking on a dangerous new chapter filled with high-stakes deliveries. His resolve is put to the ultimate test when he is assigned the perilous task of transporting a young girl named Nike to the Sèmè Border.

As the tension escalates, the story unfolds to reveal that Nike is, in fact, the daughter of none other than the Central Bank Governor, Folashade, who initiates an extensive operation to rescue her child upon learning of the abduction. This gripping turn of events propels Tòkunbò deeper into a world of peril, forcing him to confront both external dangers and his own moral dilemmas. His journey becomes not only a race against time but also a test of love, sacrifice, and redemption, as he navigates the turbulent waters between right and wrong.
