What is the name of the country music duo in the film?

Plot Summary

In a chance encounter at a Nashville club, country music duo Torn Hearts, comprised of best friends Jordan Wilder and Leigh Blackhouse, perform their unique blend of harmonies for an enthralled audience. After the show, band manager Richie Rowley Jones (Leigh’s boyfriend) orchestrates an introduction to country superstar Caleb Crawford, with the hopes of securing a coveted opening spot on his forthcoming tour. Jordan finds herself swept away by Caleb’s charms and spends a night under the stars with him. The encounter leaves her with a lingering impression - a photograph of Caleb alongside country legend Harper Dutchess, whose life was forever altered by the tragic loss of her sister Hope, half of the iconic Dutchess Sisters duo.

Caleb’s warning that something is amiss about Harper only piques Jordan’s curiosity, and she becomes convinced that Torn Hearts could be the perfect match for Harper, given their own female harmonies. Armed with Caleb’s address, Jordan convinces Leigh to join her on a mission to meet Harper, hoping to capitalize on what they perceive as a golden opportunity.

As they enter Harper’s labyrinthine mansion, an awkward introduction unfolds over a callbox, but eventually, the enigmatic country legend invites them in. Over the course of their interactions, Harper becomes fascinated by Jordan and Leigh, seeing parallels between herself and Hope in each of them. As the night wears on, Harper subtly manipulates the dynamic between the two friends, fostering a sense of rivalry that leaves them both uneasy.

Despite their reservations, Harper agrees to collaborate with Torn Hearts, but her behavior only grows more erratic - culminating in a dramatic display of guitar-smashing fervor. The next morning finds Jordan and Leigh nursing hangovers, clad in vintage Dutchess Sisters merchandise, and bearing witness to Harper’s increasingly bizarre antics. As they watch through a keyhole, Harper engages in a one-sided conversation with an invisible presence.

As the tension builds, Jordan proposes they leave, but Harper responds by conjuring the promise of recording a song together, effectively trapping them in her web of manipulation. Harper sets out to further divide the friends by exploiting their differing opinions on Leigh’s relationship with Richie, expertly goading them into a violent confrontation that ultimately leaves both women raw and reeling.

As Richie arrives at the opulent mansion, seeking out Jordan and Leigh, Harper takes the opportunity to lock Jordan away in the dimly lit basement, citing their lack of compatibility as the reason. Meanwhile, upstairs, Harper engages Richie and Leigh in a conversation that seems innocuous enough, but is actually a calculated move to manipulate them. Unbeknownst to Richie, this moment marks the beginning of a sinister game that will soon spiral out of control.

Meanwhile, Jordan’s confinement proves short-lived as she stumbles upon a hidden room dedicated to Harper’s sister Hope. The air is thick with morbid fascination as Jordan discovers jars containing severed body parts, remnants of Hope’s tragic fate. With newfound determination, Jordan uses one of the severed fingers to unlock an electronic door, freeing herself from her basement prison.

As Richie’s true intentions are revealed, Leigh and Harper conspire to form a new duo, leaving Jordan in a precarious position. The tension is palpable as Jordan confronts Leigh about her findings, but the younger woman remains stubbornly oblivious to the truth. In the midst of this chaos, Harper delivers a devastating blow, striking Richie down with a knife.

In the aftermath, Harper collects Leigh and Jordan, commanding them to don elaborate makeup and costumes as they record Hope’s final composition. As they perform, Jordan can’t help but notice Harper’s fixation on a photograph of her sister, whispering “almost there” as if seeking closure.

As tensions between Jordan and Leigh continue to escalate, Harper’s true nature is slowly revealed. She confesses that she brutally murdered Hope, motivated by a desire to protect their joint music venture from the threat of going solo. The tragic event was covered up as a suicide, allowing record sales to soar. With this revelation, Harper’s manipulation reaches new heights, convincing Leigh that killing Jordan and herself would be the ultimate act of atonement.

In the midst of this madness, Jordan and Leigh find themselves face-to-face with Richie’s lifeless body. As Harper becomes increasingly unhinged, hallucinating Hope’s presence, the two women seize their moment to overpower her. In a tense standoff, they hesitate to pull the trigger, allowing Harper a fleeting opportunity to confess her crimes and propose a twisted solution: Leigh must kill both Jordan and herself to vicariously repay Harper’s debt to her sister, ensuring a remarkable story for Leigh’s solo career.

As the dust settles on the bloody scene, a chilling sequence of events unfolds. Initially, Jordan gains the upper hand by taking down Harper before she can unleash her shotgun’s deadly force. However, in a stunning turn of events, Leigh seizes the opportunity to strike back and lands a fatal shot to Jordan’s stomach, leaving her bleeding profusely.

As Jordan succumbs to her mortal wounds, Leigh is struck by the surreal notion that she has somehow managed to survive multiple encounters with death and rise to the pinnacle of music stardom. Emboldened by this newfound insight, Leigh begins to saunter away from the carnage, but her victory is short-lived as Jordan, despite her life-threatening injuries, miraculously recovers Harper’s shotgun and uses it to exact a devastating revenge on Leigh.

In a poignant yet brutal conclusion, Jordan finally succumbs to her wounds, leaving behind a trail of destruction and chaos. Meanwhile, Caleb Crawford, seemingly unaffected by the tragedy that has unfolded before him, cleverly exploits his connection to the atrocity to further his own ambitions, ultimately emerging more successful than ever.
