Michael, an ex-con, finds himself breaking his parole conditions as he embarks on a journey to visit his ex-wife, whom he hasn’t seen in five long years. Unfortunately, his arrival is delayed by an unexpected power outage at the airport rental company, causing a mix-up with his booking.

As he begins driving, a phone suddenly beeps—a noise that catches him off guard. It’s not his phone; rather, it belongs to the rental car and is stuffed inside the glove compartment, a likely oversight by the previous renter. While stuck in traffic, Michael becomes curious and rummages beneath the car seat, only to pull out a chilling discovery: a sinister-looking gun, the type one would use to end a life.

With his heart racing and the phone ringing again, Michael hears a voice on the other end. The caller, now sounding much friendlier, informs him that there has been a mix-up and that the vehicle was intended for an undercover policeman. Relieved that he’s not in any trouble, Michael listens as the detective provides him directions to return the minivan and switch to another vehicle.

However, things take a turn as Michael gets lost and ends up on a rough dirt road, where his minivan becomes stuck in a ditch. Straining with effort, he manages to get the vehicle back on track, but just as he does, a shocking revelation occurs—the back seat suddenly flips forward, and something rolls out of the trunk. To his horror, it’s a woman, bound and gagged.

Quick to respond, he removes her gag, and though she appears weak, she quickly gains enough strength to convey her dire situation to Michael. She reveals that she has been kidnapped and that her testimony is crucial in a major corruption trial. Without her words, the prosecution’s case is in jeopardy. This harrowing encounter sets Michael on a path he never anticipated, forcing him to step in as an unlikely hero in a dangerous game of fate.
