As the somber procession of Leng Feng (actor name) and his special-ops team brings the remains of their fallen comrade back to his hometown, a sense of unease settles over the community. The family's preparation for a funeral is juxtaposed with the cold-hearted intentions of a real estate company, eager to demolish the very home where memories will soon be laid to rest. The boss of this ruthless corporation sneers at Feng and his team, their patriotism meeting with disdain. However, his condescending attitude is short-lived, as Feng's swift retribution leaves him lying on the ground, his henchmen quickly dispatched by the special-ops team. The authorities arrive soon after, ordering Feng to stand down, but not before he exacts a measure of justice upon the offending party.

Feng's release from military prison and subsequent departure for Africa marks a new chapter in his life, one filled with aimlessness and wanderlust as he roams the continent. His skills as a mercenary come into play when he foils an attempted hijacking by Somalian pirates, employing his expertise in hand-to-hand combat to subdue them beneath the waves. For three long years, Feng has carried a bullet, a tangible reminder of the kidnapping of Lieutenant Colonel Long Xiaoyun (actor name), whose fate remains a mystery.

A chance encounter with locals on a beach party serves as the catalyst for Feng's next move. The unprovoked attack by rebel forces seeking to overthrow the African nation sends him hurtling into a vortex of chaos and destruction. As the rebels and their mercenaries overwhelm government troops, the Chinese fleet arrives to evacuate its nationals. Amidst the turmoil, a shop owner who owes his life to Feng's intervention reveals that the bullet he carries belongs to European mercenaries supporting the rebel cause. This newfound information sets Feng on a mission to rescue workers at a Chinese factory and Dr. Chen (actor name), a VIP held hostage in a nearby hospital. The doctor is working tirelessly to develop a vaccine for Lamanla, a deadly disease ravaging the region. However, Feng will embark on this perilous journey alone, without the support of his comrades, who are bound by protocol and unable to accompany him on foreign soil.

As Feng arrives at the hospital, chaos erupts during the hostage rescue operation. Tragedy strikes when Dr. Chen (character) falls victim to a ruthless rebel attack, his life slipping away as he implores Feng to assume guardianship of an African girl named Pasha, who happens to be one of the doctor's patients with a rare immunity to Lamanla. Amidst the mayhem, Feng and Dr. Rachel Smith, a surviving medic, manage to escape together with Pasha, though not before Feng suffers a nasty cut while navigating through a gruesome landscape of infected corpses.

With his godson's mother among those imperiled at the Hanbound factory, Feng sets out to save her and the other workers from certain doom. Upon arrival, he's met with hostility by Zhuo Yifan, the son of the factory owner and a fervent admirer of Chinese military prowess. Feng informs the assembled workers that the Chinese fleet is preparing to dispatch a helicopter rescue team, with plans to evacuate women and children via chopper while the menfolk travel by road to join their comrades.

However, Big Daddy's mercenary force, hired guns for Dyon Corps, has other designs. They're on the hunt for Pasha, believing she holds the key to unlocking a cure for Lamanla. Feng rallies the factory workers to defend their families and colleagues against this fresh threat, but just as all hope seems lost, Big Daddy's men are ordered to retreat. The rebel leader's directive is clear: no Chinese can be harmed, since he needs China's support when he assumes power – a crucial factor given its permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council.

But Big Daddy has other plans. He murders his leader and takes charge, demanding that everyone fall back to the factory to capture Pasha and eliminate Feng. Meanwhile, as the workers at Hanbound begin to uncover the truth about Feng's condition, they're shocked to learn that he's infected with Lamanla. Rachel intervenes by injecting him with a lifesaving serum, revealing that Dr. Chen had discovered a cure using patients who'd developed immunity through their exposure to the virus – Pasha being one such patient, not his biological daughter as initially believed.

As the dust settles on the factory's bloody battleground, Big Daddy and his cohorts regroup their forces, rounding up the surviving workers. Meanwhile, Feng, fueled by determination and accompanied by Rachel (played by...) and Pasha, makes a valiant attempt to rescue the captives. The duo's efforts ultimately prove successful, as they manage to extract the workers from harm's way. However, their relief is short-lived, as a helicopter arrives on the scene, ferrying the women, children, and other survivors to safety - only to be brutally shot down by enemy fire. As the chaos unfolds, Feng and his comrades engage in a fierce battle against an onslaught of Dyon Corps mercenaries and rebels, bolstered by the arrival of several armored tanks.

Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the Chinese fleet responds with precision-guided missiles, systematically dismantling the tanks and turning the tide of the battle. Amidst the chaos, Feng faces off against Big Daddy (played by...), learning a shocking truth: the bullet that took Xiaoyun's life was fired from Big Daddy's gun. Consumed by rage and grief, Feng delivers a merciless beating to his foe before dispatching him in a brutal, no-holds-barred fight.

With the immediate danger neutralized, Feng assumes leadership of the surviving group, guiding them through treacherous rebel territory as they make their way to the relative safety of the UN camp. The film concludes with an image of a Chinese passport and a poignant message: "Don't give up if you run into danger abroad. Please remember, a strong motherland will always have your back!"

The credits roll, but not before a mid-credits scene reveals that Feng's commander has granted him permission to rejoin his military squadron - only to show him a disturbing video revealing the truth: Xiaoyun (played by...) is still alive, leaving Feng with more questions than answers.
