Plot Summary

ALIENS IN THE ATTIC is an exhilarating adventure-comedy co-scripted by one of the talented writers from “Madagascar” and the Academy Award®-winning “Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.” This lively story follows a group of kids on a family vacation, who find themselves in an extraordinary predicament as they confront mischievous knee-high alien invaders determined to wreak havoc with their world-destroying schemes. Even more challenging, the children must keep their oblivious parents unaware of the chaos unfolding just above them.

The battle is set between the Pearsons and the extraterrestrial intruders “who came from upstairs,” resulting in a gripping showdown that will ultimately determine the fate of our planet while simultaneously launching the ultimate summer adventure.

It all begins with an awe-inspiring meteor shower lighting up the night sky. Four glowing pods swiftly follow the celestial spectacle, propelled by an enigmatic force heading straight for Earth. In a cozy suburban home in Michigan, we meet the Pearson family, which includes the lovable seven-year-old Hannah (Ashley Boettcher), the tech-savvy 15-year-old Tom (Carter Jenkins), who is struggling academically, and the spirited big sister Bethany (Ashley Tisdale), who has just returned from a secret rendezvous with her boyfriend Ricky (Robert Hoffman).

In pursuit of some quality family bonding time, Stuart Pearson (Kevin Nealon) gathers his family and embarks on a trip to a modest three-story holiday house in a remote area. Accompanying them on this adventure are Uncle Nate (Andy Richter), his son Jake (Austin Butler), the beloved Nana Rose (Doris Roberts), and identical twins Art (Henri Young) and Lee (Regan Young). Unbeknownst to them, Bethany’s boyfriend Ricky manages to tag along for an unexpected overnight stay with the extended family.

As day turns into night, dark storm clouds gather ominously over the house, and suddenly, four radiant objects shoot toward the roof. The small alien crew consists of Skip, the tenacious commander; Tazer, a muscular being armed to the teeth; Razor, a fierce female soldier; and Sparks, a geeky, four-armed techie who stands out as the most innocent of the intruders.

In a shocking turn of events, Ricky becomes enchanted by the aliens due to a sophisticated mind-control device implanted at the base of his skull, rendering him a mere puppet of the alien crew. The alien “Zirkonians,” together with Ricky, declare their claim over the planet. However, upon witnessing this bizarre occurence, Tom takes charge and gathers his young allies, quickly discovering that the mind-control device fails to affect children. This revelation braces them with newfound resolve to shield their parents from the truth and take matters into their own hands.

As creativity fuels their survival, the kids ingeniously fabricate makeshift weapons, including a cleverly designed potato spud gun. They even learn to manipulate the mind control device, allowing them to reclaim Ricky and turn his robotic actions against both himself and the aliens.

Meanwhile, Nana Rose becomes another unsuspected victim of the alien mind control gadget, gaining super-human abilities that ultimately assist the kids in the escalating battle against Ricky and his extraterrestrial puppeteers. Sparks, the friendly alien, joins forces with the kids, using his four arms to create devices that empower them in their fight.

As the confrontation intensifies, laughter, thrills, and danger peak. The kids discover remarkable strengths and resourcefulness within themselves. Unbeknownst to the adult figures who remain blissfully ignorant of the alien presence, the children face their fears head-on, proving that, despite the odds, the extraterrestrial visitors never stood a chance against their youthful spirits.
