Upon arrival in Beijing, Guei and his friends secure jobs at a courier company that provides them with brand-new bicycles for deliveries. The manager, Xie Jian, informs them about the pay structure, emphasizing that they will only earn a small percentage until they own their bicycles.

Earning the Right to His Own Bike

After two months of hard work, Guei successfully completes enough deliveries to qualify for ownership of his own bicycle. This milestone represents a significant achievement for him, as it promises to increase his earnings considerably.

The Bicycle Theft

On the day that Guei is set to claim ownership of his new bicycle, tragedy strikes when it is stolen while he steps away to retrieve an important document. This unexpected event throws Guei's plans into disarray and leads to dire consequences.
