However, due to unexpected delays, Mark requests his friend, a charming Egyptian named Tareq, to keep an eye on Juliette during his absence. A poignant moment arises when they travel to Alexandria for the wedding of Hanan, the daughter of Yasmeen, Tareqβs university acquaintance. There, Juliette openly expresses her feelings, admitting that she will cherish the time spent with Tareq once she returns to Canada.
The two also visit the majestic Great Pyramids, a sight Mark has suggested must be just for the two of them, as revealed in his sporadic phone calls to Juliette at her hotel.
