The film opens in 1990, amid the chilling winter in Chicago, where the struggling Great Indian Circus, run by the dedicated single father Iqbal Haroon Khan (Jackie Shroff), faces foreclosure from the Western Bank of Chicago due to an unpaid loan. His young son Sahir (Siddharth Nigam) desperately pleads with the bank president Warren Anderson to keep the circus operational, insisting they will soon settle their debts.
