In 2013, Assistant Commissioner of Police Raghavan Amrendra Singh Umbi, grappling with a drug addiction, seeks out a Mumbai drug dealer for a fix. His intentions take a dark turn when his plan is abruptly interrupted — both the dealer and a companion are found murdered. The following day, while investigating the gruesome scene, Raghavan receives a chilling hammer and an anonymous phone call, marking the onset of a twisted chain of events.
Fast forward to 2015, a man known as Ramanna turns himself into the police, confessing to the brutal slayings of nine people. Though he is harshly treated and imprisoned, he ingeniously escapes with the help of some local boys. Desperate for food, he returns to his sister Lakshmi’s home, where a violent confrontation with her husband leads him to return shortly after, ultimately slaughtering the couple and their child. During the subsequent investigation, Raghavan discovers a photo of Ramanna with Lakshmi, unveiling a disturbing link to the case.
Raghavan’s personal life intertwines with the chaos of his professional world; he is in a volatile relationship with Smrutika “Simi” Naidu, where his abusive nature manifests through physical violence and heart-wrenching coercion, leading her to endure three abortions. Ramanna, watching Raghavan and Simi from the shadows, appears to sense a deeper connection between the policeman and his violent deeds. As Ramanna embarks on a deadly spree, targeting Simi’s maid and her husband, he eventually gets apprehended by the police, but escape once more, taking vengeance on the bystander who helped secure his capture. Raghavan’s dark persona is unveiled when he, too, commits murder — this time against an African drug dealer during a visit to see his father.
One fateful night, he attempts to seduce another woman named Ankita at a nightclub but, under the influence of drugs, finds himself incapable of intimacy, which leads him into a furious rage. In a desperate search for drugs hidden in Simi’s home, he confronts her, resulting in a nasty argument. When Simi demands Raghavan leave with Ankita, his fury escalates, ending with a tragic push that sends Simi tumbling into a glass table, causing her immediate death.
Ankita, sensing danger, locks herself away in the bathroom, trying to seek help but ultimately succumbing to Raghavan’s menacing threats. In a twisted act of self-preservation, Raghavan meticulously rearranges the crime scene to frame Ramanna for Simi’s death, brutally attacking Simi’s lifeless body with a tire iron meant to resemble Ramanna’s weapon of choice. Meanwhile, Ankita manages a narrow escape.
The following day, in a shocking turn, Ramanna returns to confront Raghavan, declaring their entwined fates — suggesting they are two halves of the same whole. Ramanna acknowledges his involvement in the initial murders witnessed by Raghavan, offering to take the fall for Simi’s death under the condition that Raghavan eliminates the lone eyewitness, Ankita. The story culminates in a harrowing finale as Raghavan, now fully plunged into darkness, arrives at Ankita’s home to commit the ultimate betrayal and murder, mirroring Ramanna’s own path of destruction.
