A young teenage girl, named Maria Nacastro, portrayed by Kashina Kessler, sets off for an exciting adventure as she goes to summer camp. However, while crossing the street, she finds herself in a precarious situation, being chased into an alleyway and tragically run over by a garbage truck operated by the menacing serial killer Angela Baker, who oddly resembles Maria in both her appearance and clothing. After brutally eliminating Maria, Angela callously disposes of her body, along with the girl’s belongings, using the trash compactor of the truck.
With her identity assumed, Angela then boards a bus that takes her to Camp New Horizon, which hosts a diverse group of youths from various backgrounds, all gathered for a social experiment focused on collaboration and sharing. Upon her arrival, Angela and the other campers are greeted by camp owners Lilly and Herman Miranda, as well as news reporter Tawny Richards, who conducts interviews with the eager campers. Angela cleverly adopts Maria’s identity during this process, while Tawny raises issues about the camp’s dark past, as it was formerly known as Camp Rolling Hills, the site of Angela’s previous bloody rampage.
As tensions rise, Tawny prompts Angela for a favor, asking her to procure some cocaine, which Angela deceitfully delivers to her. Unfortunately, this leads to a fatal outcome for Tawny when she consumes some toxic cleaning chemicals Angela had pilfered from the camp. Later, the campers are divided into groups for a camping expedition, where they encounter Officer Barney Whitmore—the father of one of Angela’s past victims—heightening the tension.
Chaos ensues as Angela’s wrath escalates. After an incident during fishing, where her patience wears thin with one of the campers, she brutally attacks and kills Herman and Jan in a shocking turn of events, hiding their bodies to cover her tracks. Under the pretense of playfulness, Angela continues her sinister spree, extinguishing the lives of several other campers, including Cindy Hammersmith, by executing a cruel trust exercise that results in her falling from a great height.
Angela’s manipulative tactics take center stage as she tricks Lilly and others into dangerous situations, culminating in a gruesome scene where Lilly meets her end beneath the ruthless blades of a lawnmower. As night falls, more lives are lost at Angela’s hands, including Bobby, Riff, and eventually orchestrating her intricate planned chaos that leads to the disastrous fate of the campers.
But Angela’s reign of terror does not go uncontested. During a dramatic confrontation, a brave Marcia Holland fights back against Angela’s attack. Their epic struggle ends in violence, with Angela receiving several stabs, illustrating the intense and bloody conflict. Amidst this harrowing ordeal, Angela’s last words echo in a haunting reflection on her doomed intentions: > “You try to do something nice for someone… and look what happens.”
In a chilling twist of fate, as Angela lies in an ambulance, her journey appears to be far from over. Unbeknownst to the attending paramedics, Angela awakens from her apparent demise, retaliating and killing them using a syringe, while delivering her sinister remark: “Just taking care of business.” The horror leaves a lingering atmosphere of dread, suggesting that Angela’s path of destruction is far from complete.
