**Anne Jacqueline Hathaway** (born November 12, 1982) is an American actress who has made significant contributions to both the film and theatre industry. She has received numerous awards including an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award, a Golden Globe Award, and a Primetime Emmy Award. Her films have impressively grossed over $6.8 billion worldwide and she appeared on the Forbes Celebrity 100 list in 2009. One of the world's highest-paid actresses in 2015, Hathaway was among Forbes' highest-grossing actresses of the 21st century in 2017. Beginning her acting career in several plays during her high school years, Hathaway made her breakthrough as a teenager when she was cast in the television series *Get Real* (1999–2000) and played the lead role in Disney's comedy *The Princess Diaries* (2001). She transitioned to mature roles in 2005 drama *Brokeback Mountain*, and continued with successful films like *The Devil Wears Prada* (2006), *Rachel Getting Married* (2008), *Interstellar* (2014) among others.
