Ashton Durrand Sanders, prominent American actor, was born on 24th of October 1995 in Carson, California. He attended the Grand Arts High School in Downtown Los Angeles from which he graduated in 2014. Sanders embarked on the journey of further education in theatre and gave almost three years dedicatedly to the Theatre School at DePaul University. However, over time, his focus shifted primarily towards acting which marked the end of his university years in 2016.

Making a mark in Hollywood, Sanders made his film debut with The Retrieval, directed by Chris Eska. He soon gained recognition for his portrayal of teenage Chiron in the Academy Award-winning film Moonlight in 2016. This was a significant turning point in his career ushering him to different opportunities as he got cast in films such as The Equalizer 2 (2017), All Day and a Night (2020), and Judas and the Black Messiah (2020). He embodied the character of Bigger Thomas in Native Son (2019), and was cast as Bobby Brown in Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody (2022). Not only limiting himself to films, Sanders also had a noticeable stint on television.
