Benedict Wong

Benedict Wong, born 3 July 1971, is an English actor known for his roles in both stage and screen. Early in his career, Wong starred in the film _Dirty Pretty Things (2003)_ and the BBC sitcom _15 Storeys High (2002–2004)_. His other notable early works include films such as _On a Clear Day (2005)_, _Sunshine, Grow Your Own (both 2007)_, and _Moon (2009)_, as well as the CBBC series _Spirit Warriors (2010)_. It wasn't until the 2010s that Wong began to gain further recognition, known for his roles as Kublai Khan in the Netflix series _Marco Polo (2014–2016)_, Bruce Ng in the film _The Martian (2015)_, and Wong in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since _Doctor Strange (2016)_. His most recent works include a main role in _3 Body Problem_ on Netflix and a compelling performance in _Nine Days (2020)_, which earned him an Independent Spirit Award nomination. Wong's first role was in the 1993 BBC Radio play Kai Mei Sauce written by his cousin, Kevin Wong. Throughout his career, he's showcased a wide variety of roles, from a ship's pilot in Ridley Scott's film _Prometheus_ to a nominee for a British Independent Film Award and the West End Frame Award for Best Dramatic Performance.
