Benedict Wong

Benedict Wong, born 3 July 1971, is an English actor known for his roles in both stage and screen. Early in his career, Wong starred in the film Dirty Pretty Things (2003) and the BBC sitcom 15 Storeys High (2002–2004). His other notable early works include films such as On a Clear Day (2005), Sunshine, Grow Your Own (both 2007), and Moon (2009), as well as the CBBC series Spirit Warriors (2010). It wasn't until the 2010s that Wong began to gain further recognition, known for his roles as Kublai Khan in the Netflix series Marco Polo (2014–2016), Bruce Ng in the film The Martian (2015), and Wong in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Doctor Strange (2016). His most recent works include a main role in 3 Body Problem on Netflix and a compelling performance in Nine Days (2020), which earned him an Independent Spirit Award nomination. Wong's first role was in the 1993 BBC Radio play Kai Mei Sauce written by his cousin, Kevin Wong. Throughout his career, he's showcased a wide variety of roles, from a ship's pilot in Ridley Scott's film Prometheus to a nominee for a British Independent Film Award and the West End Frame Award for Best Dramatic Performance.
