Cameron Monaghan

Cameron Riley Monaghan, born on August 16, 1993 in Santa Monica, California, is a highly acclaimed American actor and model. He made his mark with roles including Ian Gallagher on the Showtime comedy-drama series Shameless and as twins Jerome and Jeremiah Valeska on the DC Comics-based TV series Gotham. His contribution to the acting industry also includes the portrayal of Cal Kestis in the action-adventure game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and its sequel Jedi: Survivor. Monaghan took his first steps into the world of acting as a child model at three, and as a child actor at seven. Born to Diane Monaghan, an insurance claims specialist, he moved to Boca Raton, Florida shortly after birth. His mother recognized his outgoing personality early and initiated his modeling career by sending his picture to agencies.

Monaghan's acting career took flight at the young age of seven when he started participating in theatrical productions such as Stuart Little and Winnie-the-Pooh at the Little Palm Children's Theatre. After moving to the Los Angeles area around the age of 10, he garnered nationwide attention in 2003 with his role as Winthrop Paroo in the ABC television adaptation of The Music Man. He earned a Young Artist Award for his recurring role as Chad on the Fox comedy series Malcolm in the Middle in 2004. From 2002 until the present day, his illustrious career spans a vast array of guest-starring roles on popular television shows and feature film roles. His mature performance as the bipolar teen Ian Gallagher on the series Shameless earned him critical acclaim and a nomination for a Critics' Choice Award.
