Who are the four new Supermen claiming Superman's mantle?

Plot Summary

As the six months since Superman’s heroic sacrifice at the hands of Doomsday have passed, a sense of unease has settled over Metropolis. The city’s streets are now plagued by an unprecedented rise in crime, while four new and contentious Supermen have emerged to claim the mantle left vacant by Kal-El’s passing. Lois Lane, still reeling from the devastating loss, has been diligently investigating these new arrivals, pouring over intelligence gathered from a multitude of sources.

Meanwhile, Lex Luthor, ever the master manipulator, stages a high-profile press conference to introduce his latest creation: Superboy, a genetically engineered clone designed by Dr. Dabney Donovan. However, Lois is quick to uncover the truth behind this supposed new Superman - that he is, in fact, nothing more than a manufactured duplicate. The conference is soon disrupted by a trio of other self-proclaimed Supermen: Steel, Cyborg Superman, and the Eradicator, who engage in an explosive battle that ultimately leaves only two of them standing.

Unbeknownst to anyone, however, Kal-El himself has somehow managed to cheat death and is currently recuperating at his Arctic retreat, the Fortress of Solitude. As he begins to regain his strength, it becomes clear that the Eradicator’s DNA is being rejuvenated by Superman’s ship’s matrix. That same night, Cyborg Superman pays a visit to Lois in an effort to persuade her of his authenticity.

As tensions continue to simmer, the Justice League, accompanied by Superboy, is hired as bodyguards for the President during a high-profile event at which he will unveil their new Watchtower. However, just as the ceremony is set to begin, the proceedings are suddenly interrupted by a swarm of Parademons, summoned via a boom tube portal. The League members are mysteriously transported to another planet and declared dead, while Cyborg Superman springs into action to rescue the President and claim the title of true Superman for himself.

In the aftermath of this chaos, Lex’s frustration with Superboy reaches a boiling point, culminating in the gruesome murder of Dr. Donovan - an act that is revealed to have been orchestrated by Lex himself, who shares a vital genetic link with the clone. The Eradicator, meanwhile, finds itself at the center of a brutal battle with Steel, which ultimately ends when Lois realizes that this so-called Superman is merely a hologram created by Kal-El’s ship’s matrix to protect his secret.

As the dust settles on these various conflicts, it becomes clear that Cyborg Superman - in reality, Hank Henshaw, a deceased astronaut consumed by a burning desire for revenge against the Man of Steel - has been using technology derived from Mother Boxes to create an army of human-infused militia warriors known as the Cyber Corps. With this revelation comes a dire warning: if left unchecked, these forces will stop at nothing to destroy Kal-El’s legacy and everything he stands for.

Finally, Lois and Lex uncover the shocking truth behind Cyborg Superman’s true identity - that he is being manipulated by none other than Darkseid from Apokolips, who orchestrated Doomsday’s attack on Earth in a bid to eliminate the Last Son of Krypton once and for all.

As Superman, Superboy, and Steel converge on Metropolis, Lex Luthor (actor’s name) seizes the opportunity to rescue the Justice League from the clutches of destruction. Meanwhile, the devious mind of Darkseid is fixated on tormenting Hank Henshaw, whose failure to keep Superman deceased still rankles him. Utilizing a Mother Box imbued with Henshaw’s consciousness, Darkseid attempts to open a portal for his nemesis’ arrival. However, before he can exact his revenge, Henshaw seizes the initiative by ripping out the Mother Box from within himself, thereby disabling Darkseid’s control over the Cyber Corps.

As Lois Lane (actor’s name) is whisked away to the Watchtower, she finds herself at the mercy of Henshaw’s wrath. However, just as he prepares to exact his vengeance, Superman bursts onto the scene, only to be met with a torrent of anger and resentment from Henshaw, whose wife Terri had perished due to Superman’s indirect involvement. The Man of Steel eventually regains his powers from the radiant warmth of the sun and puts an end to Henshaw’s rampage by utilizing a crystal containing the Eradicator program, which he obtained from the mystical Fortress of Solitude.

In the aftermath of this tumultuous encounter, Martian Manhunter assumes Superman’s identity to announce Clark Kent’s safe return, conveniently glossing over his absence during the catastrophic Doomsday attack. Meanwhile, Superboy is entrusted to the care of Jonathan and Martha Kent, who rename him Conner as they welcome him into their family. In a tantalizing post-credits sequence, the Justice League reconvenes at the Watchtower to confront Darkseid directly, with Lex Luthor extending an unexpected invitation to join their ranks.
