Camilla Belle

Camilla Belle Routh, known professionally as Camilla Belle, is an American actress, born in Los Angeles, California. She kickstarted her acting career with appearances in numerous television commercials and made her first significant break into the industry with her lead role in NBC's thriller, Trapped Beneath the Earth in 1992. Belle's career has since spanned a variety of genres in film and television, including her memorable roles in The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997), Practical Magic (1998), Rip Girls (2000) and 10,000 BC (2008). Belle has also earned recognition in the indie film scene, particularly with her performances in The Quiet (2005) and The Mad Whale (2017). In addition to acting, Belle has been affiliated with several marketing campaigns for brands like Vera Wang, Nespresso, and Cotton. Her sartorial flair has made headlines, bagging the Young Hollywood Style Icon award at the 2011 Young Hollywood Awards. Belle boasts a bilingual upbringing, having been raised in English and Portuguese due to her Brazilian background.

Her career began with commercials at a young age. She landed her first lead role in a film at the age of five in Trouble Shooter: Trapped Beneath the Earth (1993). Her acting credentials include her performances in A Little Princess, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, and the highly-acclaimed Practical Magic, amongst others. Her portrayal in the latter even earned her a 1999 Young Artist Award nomination. She ventured into fragrances when she signed a multi-year contract in 2006 to become the face of Vera Wang's 'Princess' fragrance. She then starred in a horror film called When a Stranger Calls which grossed $67.1 million worldwide. In 2007, she became part of coffee brand Nespresso's television commercial. By 2008, she was part of a major action-adventure film, 10,000 BC, which grossed $269 million worldwide. Belle has continued to maintain a steady presence in the industry, with recent roles including the third season of NBC‘s crime drama series Law & Order: Organized Crime and Netflix original film Carter (2022). Her fashion choices also garnered immense media attention and were subject to praise from several magazines such as Cosmopolitan, InStyle and People. She dated singer Joe Jonas briefly in 2008 and has since maintained a private profile.
