As the sisters, Nora and Mary, come together at their father’s estate for the reading of his will, they are hit with an astounding surprise: their family fortune has completely vanished, leaving them in dire financial straits. The magnificent mansion now has to be given over to their half-brother Gabe Hernandez, who graciously permits them to stay under his roof alongside his wife, Olivia. However, tensions begin to boil when Olivia tries to confine the sisters to the basement, which drives them to seek refuge with their maternal aunt, Aurelia, in the lively East Los Angeles area.

Aurelia welcomes them with open arms, and spurred by a fierce desire to support herself and her sister, Nora makes the pivotal choice to leave law school and embark on a new journey as a legal clerk. In the meantime, Mary dives back into her studies, where she quickly captures the attention of her suave instructor, Rodrigo, igniting a passionate romance. As she explores this budding relationship, Bruno, Aurelia’s neighbor, watches from a distance, his feelings for Mary unmistakably clear.

On the other hand, Nora settles into her role as a legal clerk, only to realize that her boss is none other than Olivia’s brother, Edward, the very man who has managed to steal her heart. The lives of the sisters blossom amidst the vibrant cultural landscape of East Los Angeles, as they get entangled in a whirlwind of romantic adventures and festive celebrations.

As the narrative unfolds, Mary musters the courage to express her affection for Bruno, resulting in their first gentle kiss. Meanwhile, Edward, deeply touched by his feelings for Nora, purchases the house right across from Aurelia’s home and surprises her with an engagement ring attached to the key to the front door—a heartfelt symbol of their love and commitment. The film reaches a joyful climax as friends and family come together to celebrate Nora and Edward’s street party wedding, immersed in the enchanting ambiance of East Los Angeles.
