Charlotte Rampling, born as Tessa Charlotte Rampling on 5 February 1946, is an accomplished English actress particularly known for her work in European arthouse films. At the onset of her career, she was considered an icon of the swinging sixties, and started her journey into showbiz as a model. Her acting chops soon caught the eye of filmmakers and she was cast in acclaimed films like Luchino Visconti's The Damned (1969) and Liliana Cavani's The Night Porter (1974). Her versatility has seen her star in numerous European and English-language films, and she gained wider recognition from American audiences through films such as Stardust Memories (1980) and The Verdict (1982).

In the 2000s, Rampling became the muse of French director François Ozon, featuring in several of his films. Her television work includes her role as Dr. Evelyn Vogel in the popular series Dexter (2013). Adding another string to her bow, she released an album of cabaret-style recordings titled Like a Woman in 2002. Rampling has been lauded for her film performances, winning the Berlin Film Festival Award for Best Actress and the European Film Award for Best Actress for 45 Years (2015), and nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award for Restless. Beyond her prestigious acting career, Rampling penned her autobiography titled Who I Am, first released in French as Qui Je Suis.
