Cobie Smulders

**Cobie Smulders**, born as Jacoba Francisca Maria Smulders, is a renowned Canadian actress. Born on April 3, 1982, she gained fame for her starring role as Robin Scherbatsky in the CBS series 'How I Met Your Mother' (2005–2014) and the Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero franchise, beginning with 'The Avengers' in 2012. Smulders' work extends to 'Safe Haven' (2013), The Lego Movie franchise (2014–2019), 'Results' (2015), 'The Intervention' (2016) and 'Jack Reacher: Never Go Back' (2016). She also featured in the Netflix series, 'A Series of Unfortunate Events' (2017), 'Friends from College' (2017–2019), and the crime drama 'Stumptown' (2019–2020). Early in her life, she aspired to be a marine biologist but her interests took a turn towards theatre during high school. Prior to her acting career, Smulders worked in modeling, which she claimed to have 'kind of hated'. Her professional acting debut was in 2002 and she first got noticed as a regular in the ABC series 'Veritas: The Quest'. Smulders has also appeared in popular TV series like 'Special Unit 2', 'Jeremiah', 'Tru Calling', 'Smallville', and 'Andromeda'. After being cast in 'How I Met Your Mother', she gained wide recognition, leading to roles in 'The Avengers' and 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' among others, where she portrayed S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Maria Hill. In 2021, she played media pundit Ann Coulter in the FX series 'Impeachment: American Crime Story'.
