What's After the Movie
**Corey Antonio Hawkins**, an American actor born on October 22, 1988, in Washington, D.C., stepped into the limelight with his outstanding performances in various film, television, and theatre projects. Starting his career in 2011, Hawkins made a name for himself through his role in the TV series *The Walking Dead* (2015–2016) and his disparaging portrayal of *Dr. Dre* in the 2015 film *Straight Outta Compton*, leading to a nomination for the prestigious Screen Actors Guild Award. Hawkins continued to impress on Broadway with his performances in *Six Degrees of Separation* (2017) and *Topdog/Underdog* (2022), earning Tony Award nominations for Best Actor in a Play. Beyond this, Hawkins caught additional attention with his work in the Fox network series 24: *Legacy* (2017), Jordan Vogt-Roberts' *Kong: Skull Island*, and Spike Lee's sharp-humored biographical film *BlacKkKlansman* (2018), which earned him a second nomination for a Screen Actors Guild Award. Acknowledging his diverse talent, the Primetime Emmy Awards nominated Hawkins for his enlightening portrayal of Paul in the Quibi series, *Survive* (2020). Among his other remarkable performances are roles in Michael Bay's *6 Underground* (2019), Jon M. Chu's *In the Heights* (2021), and Joel Coen's 2021 historical thriller film *The Tragedy of Macbeth*. He is set to star in the 2023 film adaptation of *The Color Purple*.
