Emily Olivia Laura Blunt (born 23 February 1983) is a renowned British actress who has garnered numerous recognitions which include a Golden Globe Award, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and nominations for an Academy Award as well as four British Academy Film Awards. In 2020, she was also ranked among the highest-paid actresses globally by Forbes. Blunt began her acting career on stage in a 2001 production of The Royal Family. She later ventured into TV series, featuring as Catherine Howard in the television miniseries Henry VIII (2003). Her breakthrough came in 2006 with lead roles in the television film Gideon's Daughter and the comedy-drama film The Devil Wears Prada. Her career continued to shine with lead roles in various genres, illustrating her versatility. These include the period film The Young Victoria (2009), romantic comedy Salmon Fishing in the Yemen (2011), science fiction films The Adjustment Bureau (2011), Looper (2012), Edge of Tomorrow (2014), and the musical Into the Woods (2014). Blunt has also achieved critical acclaim for her performances in Sicario (2015), The Girl on the Train (2016), and A Quiet Place (2018), the latter directed by her husband, John Krasinski.
