F. Murray Abraham (born Murray Abraham; October 24, 1939) is an accomplished American actor both on stage and screen. His illustrious career, spanning from 1959 to present, has seen him garnering critical acclaim, including an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and nominations for a BAFTA Award, four Emmy Awards, and a Grammy Award. His portrayal of Antonio Salieri in the 1984 drama film Amadeus won him an Academy Award for Best Actor, a role that solidified his prominence in the industry. His Broadway debut was in the 1968 play The Man in the Glass Booth. His stellar performances in Anton Chekhov's Uncle Vanya (1984) and William Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice (2011) earned him the Obie Award for Outstanding Performance. Abraham maintained his strong stage presence, culminating in a Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Play, following his role in Terrence McNally's comedy It's Only a Play (2014).
