With newfound conviction, Gonzo takes to the airwaves during a live broadcast of UFO Mania, where Miss Piggy is working, hoping to establish contact with his intergalactic kin.

Kermit and Rizzo follow suit, descending upon the television studio to stage an intervention, but their efforts are rebuffed by Gonzo’s unwavering determination. This prompts Agent Barker to lure Gonzo into the clutches of K. Edgar Singer, a high-ranking official at C.O.V.N.E.T., a clandestine organization masquerading as a cement factory. Singer is keenly aware of the extraterrestrial threat and sees Gonzo as the key to convincing General Luft of their existence.

As Gonzo and Rizzo are whisked away to the top-secret facility, Rizzo finds himself flushed down a tube, ending up in Dr. Tucker’s rat medical research lab alongside other Muppet rodents. Singer, frustrated by Gonzo’s refusal to cooperate, orders his brain surgically removed, intending to keep him captive until he provides the necessary intel. Meanwhile, Miss Piggy, fueled by determination and resourcefulness, assembles a team of Muppets, including Kermit, Fozzie, Pepe, and Animal, to infiltrate C.O.V.N.E.T. and rescue Gonzo and Rizzo using an arsenal of inventive gadgets from Bunsen and Beaker.

Upon learning from Rentro that Gonzo is heading for Cape Doom, Singer springs into action, preparing the Subatomic Neutro-Destabilizer weapon to take down the extraterrestrial visitors. Accompanied by Rentro, he sets out to intercept Gonzo at Cape Doom, where a throng of alien enthusiasts await their arrival.

The Muppets arrive just in time to rescue Gonzo from the facility and then converge on Cape Doom, where they’re greeted by a sea of beings that all bear a striking resemblance to Gonzo. After an hour-long wait, the extraterrestrial visitors explain that they’ve been searching for Gonzo for many years and are overjoyed to be reunited with him. Singer, however, has other plans and attempts to destroy the aliens using his weapon, only to be foiled when Rentro disables it by removing the battery.

The aliens, unfazed by Singer’s ineffectual attack, invite Gonzo to join them on their home planet. While tempted by the prospect of reuniting with his long-lost family, Gonzo ultimately decides to stay on Earth with his Muppet friends, who have given him their blessing to do so. In a surprising turn of events, Singer is invited by the aliens to accompany them as Earth’s ambassador and accepts, leaving behind a trail of confusion.

As night falls, Gonzo and his Muppet companions gaze up at the stars from the boarding house roof, reflecting on the extraordinary events that have transpired.
