Jane Seymour Fonda is an American actress and activist, renowned for her work spanning over six decades across various film genres and television. Born December 21, 1937 in New York City to socialite Frances Ford Seymour and actor Henry Fonda, she embarked on a highly successful acting career, marking her debut in the romantic comedy 'Tall Story' (1960). Her notable roles include the comedies 'Cat Ballou' (1965), 'Barefoot in the Park' (1967), the science fiction spoof 'Barbarella' (1968), and the thriller 'Klute' (1971) for which she won an Academy Award for Best Actress. She is also recognized for her activism during the Vietnam War, supporting civil rights, feminism and opposing the Iraq War. Fonda has been married thrice to Roger Vadim, Tom Hayden and Ted Turner, is a mother of three, and has been a longstanding advocate for various environmental and feminist causes.
