Jeffrey Donovan is a renowned American actor, best known for his role as Michael Westen in the television series Burn Notice. He has also appeared in a variety of films such as Hitch, Believe in Me, Changeling, and Come Early Morning. Notably, he portrayed iconic political figures Robert F. Kennedy in Clint Eastwood's J. Edgar (2011), and John F. Kennedy in Rob Reiner's LBJ (2016). Donovan also appeared in the second season of the TV series Fargo (2015). From 2022 to 2023, he starred as NYPD Detective Frank Cosgrove on the revival of the NBC crime drama Law & Order, departing before the 23rd season due to creative differences.

Born in Amesbury, Massachusetts, Donovan was raised by his mother Nancy Matthews after their father left the family. Throughout his high school years, a supportive teacher enabled him to kickstart his acting career. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in drama from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and later earned a Master of Fine Arts from New York University's Graduate Acting Program. Over the course of his career, Donovan has guest-starred in shows like CSI: Miami, Spin City, Monk, and Law & Order. Donovan has also notably lead performances in theatre productions like Hamlet, A View from the Bridge, and An Inspector Calls. Apart from his acting career, Donovan has over 20 years of martial arts experience, having earned his black belt in Shotokan karate in college and having studied aikido and Brazilian jiu-jitsu, demonstrating a versatile set of skills on and off the screen.
