Alicia Christian "Jodie" Foster, an American actress and filmmaker, has received numerous accolades throughout her distinguished career. Her role as a teenage prostitute in the thriller Taxi Driver (1976) resulted in her receiving a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. After attending Yale University, Foster successfully transitioned into mature leading roles, winning two Academy Awards for Best Actress for The Accused (1988) and The Silence of the Lambs (1991).
