La La Anthony

Alani Nicole 'La La' Anthony (née Vázquez) is an American television personality and actress. She began her career in the early 2000s working as an MTV VJ on Total Request Live and later hosted multiple VH1 reality television reunion shows such as Flavor of Love, I Love New York, For the Love of Ray J, Real Chance of Love, and as a dean on Charm School with Ricki Lake. Anthony's acting credits include roles in Two Can Play That Game, You Got Served, Think Like a Man, Think Like a Man Too, November Rule and Destined. She is notable for her role as Lakeisha Grant in the Starz original drama series Power, as well as for hosting the reality television series La La's Full Court Wedding and La La's Full Court Life. During this time, she was married to NBA player Carmelo Anthony. Anthony was born in Brooklyn, New York to Puerto Rican parents and identifies as Afro-Puerto Rican. She began her career in radio at WHTA-FM, HOT 97.5 in Georgia. After an internship at that station, she moved to Los Angeles's 92.3 The Beat before transitioning to MTV in 2001. Aside from her on-screen work, Anthony also worked as a producer on Mike Tyson’s documentary, Tyson, which won the Regard Knockout Award in France and was selected for the 2009 Cannes Film Festival. Anthony later started her own cosmetic and clothing lines, and co-produced the Broadway production of Danai Gurira's Eclipsed in 2016. She has written several books and had a successful career in many different areas of the entertainment industry.
