Meganne Young (born 22 March 1990) is a multifaceted South African actress and director famed for her roles in the 'The Kissing Booth' franchise and the Starz series 'Black Sails'. Born to a South African father and an Australian mother in Cape Town, Young had a diverse upbringing as she moved around countries, with Nigeria, Switzerland, and Sri Lanka being her transient homes. She completed her education taking the International Baccalaureate at the Overseas School of Colombo. In the pursuit of her passion, she bagged an Advanced Diploma in Acting from the CityVarsity Cape Town campus, graduating in 2011. Her hand at distance learning led her to graduate from the Guildford School of Acting in England in 2014. Her career burgeoned with her participation in theatre and short films, thereby earning her 48 Hour Film and Fleur du Cap Theatre Award nominations. Major onscreen roles started landing on her lap with her role as Abigail Ashe in Starz series 'Black Sails'. She also made an appearance in season 14 of 'Supernatural' and in 'Legends of Tomorrow'. She scored a significant breakthrough when she landed the role of Rachel in the Netflix original film 'The Kissing Booth' in 2018. Reprising this role for the sequels, 'The Kissing Booth 2' (2020), and 'The Kissing Booth 3' (2021) further cemented her space in the acting industry.
