American actor Michael James Vogel, known as Mike Vogel, started his acting career in 2001. He has been in several films and series, notably The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Grind, Poseidon, Blue Valentine, The Help, Bates Motel, Cloverfield, Under the Dome and The Case for Christ. He headlined the NBC military drama series The Brave during its 2017–18 season. Vogel hails from Abington Township, Pennsylvania and is of German descent. He showcased his versatility in acting with a variety of roles which spanned different genres such as horror, romance, comedy and drama.
Vogel started his career modeling jeans for Levi Strauss & Company, before receiving a recurring role in Grounded for Life between 2001 and 2004. His first film role was a skateboarding-themed film, Grind, released in August 2003. Among his well-known roles was in the remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, which achieved high box office performance. In 2005, Vogel was featured in four films and this was followed by his role in the disaster film Poseidon in 2006.
