Nathan Fillion, a Canadian-American actor, gained significant recognition for his role in the series, One Life to Live as Joey Buchanan, and was nominated for the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series. He also had a supporting role as Johnny Donnelly in the sitcom Two Guys and a Girl. Fillion's major roles include Captain Malcolm 'Mal' Reynolds on Firefly, which he reprised in the film Serenity, and Richard Castle on Castle. He started starring as John Nolan on The Rookie in 2018, and even became an executive producer on the show and its spin-off series, The Rookie: Feds. His capacious range of work spans across traditionally distributed films like Slither and Trucker, Internet-distributed films such as Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, television soap operas, sitcoms, theatre. His voice features in animation and video games, most notably the Halo series and Destiny video games, and the television series M.O.D.O.K. (2021). Fillion was born in Edmonton, Alberta to Robert 'Bob' Fillion and June 'Cookie' Early, both retired English teachers. He completed his secondary and post-secondary education in Edmonton, attending Holy Trinity Catholic High School, Concordia University College of Alberta, and the University of Alberta. Fillion has been a U.S. citizen since 1997. Fillion continues to be active in numerous film and television projects, illustrating his unyielding commitment to his craft.
