**Nathan Lane**, born on February 3, 1956, is an accomplished American actor. From his first professional theatre debut in the 1978 off-Broadway production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, Lane has consistently distinguished himself in stage and screen roles. He has performed in several notable productions, including comedic and dramatic plays, and his extensive career has garnered him numerous industry awards, such as three Tony Awards, seven Drama Desk Awards, a Laurence Olivier Award, three Emmy Awards, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2006 and was inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame in 2008. His film credits include The Lion King, The Birdcage, and Mouse Hunt while his extensive Broadway repertoire includes notable productions such as The Producers and Angels in America. His career collaboration with playwright Terrence McNally began in 1989, resulting in some significant theatrical offerings.
