Sophie Belinda Turner, born on 21 February 1996, is a well-recognized English actress. She rose to fame through her incredible portrayal of Sansa Stark in the HBO epic fantasy television series Game of Thrones (2011–2019), which earned her an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2019. Turner made her acting debut with this series, thus marking the start of a successful career. She also appeared in the 2013 British drama television movie The Thirteenth Tale and made her feature film debut in the psychological thriller Another Me (2013). Subsequently, Sophie starred in the action-comedy Barely Lethal (2015) and played a young Jean Grey / Phoenix in the X-Men film series (2016–2019).

Turner was born in Northampton, England. Her childhood was reasonably enjoyable living in a large Edwardian house, near Leamington Spa. She was homeschooled on the set of Game of Thrones until she was 16, with notable academic achievements. Turner had her first movie role in the independent thriller film Another Me based on the same-named novel by Catherine MacPhail. She even worked in the comedy film Barely Lethal alongside Hailee Steinfeld. Turner was also involved in various collaborations and campaigns, including one with Wella Hair and even received work due to her substantial social media followership. Turner starred as a diamond thief in the ITV serial drama Joan in 2024.
