Born on the 26th of December in 1960, Temuera Derek Morrison is a widely recognized actor from New Zealand. His career breakthrough came with his role as Dr. Hone Ropata in the soap opera Shortland Street in New Zealand. However, he received international critical acclaim for starring as Jake "The Muss" Heke in the 1994 film Once Were Warriors that had a sequel in 1999. Furthermore, he is globally known for his pivotal character roles in the Star Wars universe, playing Jango Fett and his multiple clone characters, including the clone troopers and Boba Fett. His Star Wars journey began with Attack of the Clones in 2002 and spanned across various Star Wars video games, the second season of The Mandalorian, and the spin-off show The Book of Boba Fett. In addition to his Star Wars roles, he voiced Chief Tui, Moana's father in Disney's Moana and reprised the role of Arthur Curry's father Tom Curry in DC's Aquaman series.

Morrison was raised in the town of Rotorua, on New Zealand's North Island, and his ethnicity is Māori with Scottish and Irish ancestry. His big-screen debut took place in the film Rangi's Catch in 1973. Some of his early TV and film roles include 1988's Never Say Die and Dr. Hone Ropata on TV's Shortland Street from 1992 to 1995. His role as the abusive Māori husband Jake in Once Were Warriors won him the award for best male performance at the 1994 New Zealand Film and Television Awards. Morrison has also appeared in supporting roles in various well-known films such as Speed 2: Cruise Control and The Beautiful Country. He landed the esteemed role of Jango Fett in Star Wars: Episode II, which led to him voicing many clones due to the plot involving an army created from Jango's DNA.
