Euphemia LatiQue "Tika" Sumpter is an esteemed American actress, producer, and television host. Born on June 20, 1980, Sumpter embarked on her notable career as the host of 'Best Friend's Date', subsequently achieving fame through her performance in the daytime soap opera 'One Life to Live' between 2005 and 2010. Her film debut emerged in 'Stomp the Yard: Homecoming' (2010), followed by roles in 'What's Your Number?'(2011), 'Sparkle' (2012), and 'A Madea Christmas' (2013). Sumpter played a lead role from 2013 till 2021, in the OWN prime time soap opera, 'The Haves and the Have Nots'. Her versatile portfolio also includes action comedies 'Ride Along' (2014) and its sequel 'Ride Along 2' (2016), crime dramas like 'The Old Man & the Gun' (2018), and romantic comedies like 'Nobody's Fool' (2018). Additionally, Sumpter produced and starred as Michelle Robinson Obama in the romantic drama 'Southside with You' (2016), earning an NAACP Image Award nomination.
